Ok here is the question?? I have been trainning for this toughman contest for 6 months. It will be my first time in a boxing contest. I have been boxing on aand off for about 2 years. I also Have competed in powerlifting and have squated 750 bench pressed 550 and deadlifted 650.. (this all have nothing to do with boxing) anyway I have dropped about 15 lbs just getting in great shape for the toughman contest. when I sighned up there was only going to be 2 weight classes Hevy and light.......no there is 3 weight classes Light Heavy 160-184 heavyweight 185-214 abd super heavy 215 to 400. My trainer/boxing coach has worked these events for 10 yrs and he wants me to sight up and fight super heavy weight,..... I weight 215 and could fight heavy or super heavy ...He seems to think I would be faster and in better shape then the big guys...he says that in the past that the super heavys are fat and sloppy and that the heavy weights have better boxer...that are fast and in good shape....what do u guys think I should do???

i'd go with what he says cause alot of people in these things who weigh that much really arent in that good of shape.

I weigh 216lbs but I would probrably drop a few pounds for this. Depends how good the competition is and above all trust your coach.

Some more bad news regarding your toughman contest........they'll make up your weight and put you anywhere they want. I was 240 when I fought, and they wrote me down as 360. You should have heard the crowd during my intro, it was funny as hell at the gasp when they heard 360

Yes there are, and they usually get their head taken off cause they get winded just going up the steps to enter the ring

it depends. if you want a safe victory, move, jab, and you'll know when they've had enough and are just trying to remain upright for the rest of the round.
