View Full Version : What if Zab Judah Loses?
Mr. Ryan 01-12-2005, 03:01 PM Zab Judah was one of the most hyped of the Class of '96. He had the speed, the power, and the skills to be one of the greatest. Unfortunately, he lacked the discipline and the chin to be great. After winning the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight title, he went on a tear before running into Kostya Tszyu, who KO'ed the Brooklyn native in 2 rounds. After a failed campaign for a rematch with Tszyu, he moved up to welterweight to challenge the undisputed welterweight champ Corey Spinks. On the undercard of Klitschko-Brewster, he lost a close decision to Spinks. After 2 victories over nondescript oppostion, he finally gets his much anticipated rematch against Spinks. But what if Judah loses here? Where does he go? Would a change in trainers help him? Is Judah just wasted talent that will go unfulfilled?

I dont know if Zab has a bad chin, but if he is dedicated, which he seems to be for this fight, he will mop Cory Spinks. Spinks is slick but has no pop to his punches and if Zab is serious, he will finally get that championship. And dude, dont vote for Eric B. He didnt do **** for that group. It was all Rakim! :D
dansweeney 01-12-2005, 04:57 PM unless he has add and just cant concentrate over a full fight, he should kayo spinks, he had him dam near out in the 12th round last time, he WILL kayo him this time, guaranteed
Zab Super Judah 01-12-2005, 05:29 PM he should beat spinks but if he doenst he should drop his father as trainer and get someone else......and move back down to 140 to get fights with people like vivian harris mayweatehr cotto gatti tsyzu
neils7147933 01-12-2005, 05:40 PM If he beats Spinks, we probably see a 3rd fight. If not, who cares? Guys like DLH, Mosley, Mayorga, Golota have gotten high-profile losses lately and keep getting big fights.
I like Judah over a number of big-name guys at both 140 and 147. If he loses to Spinks, no big deal. He did once already.
if he loses he can move back to 140 and take on cotto or mayweather..or smack gotti around
onikami 01-12-2005, 06:43 PM The guy needs to move back down if he wants to make a name for himself. There is still time.
roXy graziano 01-12-2005, 07:40 PM I wish I lived in St. Louis damn it, this fight is gonna be the ****
is it gonna be televised on payperview or HBO or anything?

it's gonna be on showtime.
The Fix 01-12-2005, 07:47 PM i dont think judah has a bad chin ,zoo just has a lot of power. judah has to come in focused against spinks or he will lose. i say judah finally shows what kind of fighter he is when he beats spinks in feb.
jason power 01-12-2005, 10:41 PM The guy needs to move back down if he wants to make a name for himself. There is still time.Mate not while King Kostya is ruling the division.
onikami 01-13-2005, 10:57 AM Mate not while King Kostya is ruling the division.
Kostya's reign will come to an end at the hands of Hatton. I know it. Feel it. His time is up. 35 years of age. A great champion, yes. But the sun will set on him as a new king of the division claims his crown.
The king is dead. Long live the King.
Kornhusker 01-13-2005, 11:46 AM Kostya's reign will come to an end at the hands of Hatton. I know it. Feel it. His time is up. 35 years of age. A great champion, yes. But the sun will set on him as a new king of the division claims his crown.
The king is dead. Long live the King.
Put down the crack pipe and slowly back away.
PRboxingfan 01-13-2005, 01:43 PM I don't think Zab will lose to Cory this time around. I actually had him winning the first fight by a point due to an even round I scored. Had I given it to Cory they it would've been a draw, at the worst. Zab should come on strong and keep his clowining to a minimum. Look for a MD or SD as I'm sure Don King will buy off one judge.
Mr. Ryan 01-13-2005, 01:53 PM Oddly enough, Ring Magazine's 2004 almanac said that Fernando Vargas, Oscar Larios, Corey Sanders, and Acelino Freitas had questionable chins. Zab Judah was the only fighter they said had a dubious chin. Zab really lacks focus. He lacks discipline. He is losing to fighters that he shouldn't lose to. He has all the talent in the world, he's a superior fighter. He just doesn't seem to have that special thing that turns talent into greatness. If he beats Spinks, we will see a 3rd fight. If he loses, Judah has to go back down and play those Kostya Tszyu bull**** games. The money isn't great enough for Spinks to go for a 3rd fight with Judah if he beat him twice. By that time, the winner of Margarito-Cintron will be in line for a fight.
Pullcounter 01-13-2005, 02:47 PM Judah is going to lose to Spinks because he lacks discipline and Spinks now knows that Judah can hurt him. Spinks is going to have his track shoes on and run another 10 miles just to be safe.
Judah won't go away cause he's w/ D. King. D. King will get him title shots and get him into contention. Just loook at the crap King is pulling in the HW division and elsewheres. Judah will never really fade from the big picture. Hell King got Golota back into the limelight why not Judah.
Mr. Ryan 01-13-2005, 02:49 PM Judah is gun shy after the Kostya Tszyu KO. He is no longer the search and destroy fighter he was once upon a time.
BDBowe 01-13-2005, 07:30 PM wtf who said zab has a bad chin. he got dropped by tsyzu, big deal, did you not see the first round of their fight? so what, he got hit with a huge punch. other than that he's never been hurt, cory's kd of him was weak
davico 01-13-2005, 07:41 PM Oddly enough, Ring Magazine's 2004 almanac said that Fernando Vargas, Oscar Larios, Corey Sanders, and Acelino Freitas had questionable chins. He won't have to play Kostya "bull**** games" if he loses because if that happens Kostya will step up and fight Spinks for the titles. Kostya said he only wants BIG fights and if Zab loses again he wont be big enough for Kostya to take on again
reebox8225 01-13-2005, 08:58 PM I'am going to the fight, they are expecting a sell out (21,000). If it goes to a decision Judah doesn't have a prayer, because the fans are going to react everytime Spinks throws a punch.
LittleBigMan 01-17-2005, 11:00 PM he should beat spinks but if he doenst he should drop his father as trainer and get someone else......and move back down to 140 to get fights with people like vivian harris mayweatehr cotto gatti tsyzu
you and i are going to get along very well
Pullcounter 01-17-2005, 11:14 PM If Judah loses, King will recycle him like he's recycled Golota, so you Judah-lovers need not worry.
Judah can have potential match ups w/ DLH, Mosley, Margarito at 147. Cintron is too big IMO and Judah can always go back to 140.
LittleBigMan 01-17-2005, 11:16 PM he will not lose
Mr. Ryan 01-18-2005, 11:35 AM I seriously think Judah will be done as a serious boxing entity. He's got the guy to beat, everything seems to be in Judah's advantage, he just doesn't seem to have shat it takes to be an elite fighter.
LittleBigMan 01-18-2005, 01:12 PM Zab has skills beyond almost any fighter you can think of today
Mr. Ryan 01-18-2005, 01:50 PM Zab has skills beyond almost any fighter you can think of today
Fine, then why doesn't he win? Why does he stand and pose with Spinks instead of flatten the Jinx? You tell me that. Why didn't he run through Rafael Pineda?
Marcos 01-18-2005, 02:11 PM I remember they used to compare him to Sweet Pea, and even better because he had some pop in his punch.
The problem with Zab, is he's dumb, arrogant and immature . If he was smart enough to utilize the skills he has he would be great. Instead he's all about the "Bling Bling" life style and he carries that into the ring with him. Which is why he's lost 2 key fights in his carreer and will most likely lose the rematch with Spinks.
"You can get an idiot out of the ghetto, but you can't get the ghetto out of an idiot"
Mr. Ryan 01-18-2005, 02:17 PM Zab was compared early in his career to a hybrid Whitaker-Tyson. Well, they forgot to equate Grant, as in Michael Grant into that synergy of talent. His chin isn't questionable, it's an outright liability. He lacks the heart and desire to become a great champ. Spinks is a very beatable fighter, but he is dedicated and gives it 100% every time out. I wish I could say the same about Judah.
LittleBigMan 01-18-2005, 02:43 PM I said he's the most skilled, not the smartest. Judah is very stupid. As his biggest fan, I'll admit he is an idiot in the ring.
`STEELHEAD 01-18-2005, 04:38 PM i am not a zab fan.but the recent zab interviews i've just read are starting to make me nervous about my cory by sd prediction.zab seems totally aware of the importants of this fight for those belts. he's even admitted to the mistakes and clowning sillines of his previous fights. although many of his answers to questions were " i don't know what the hell i was thinking ". according to him and others he's been training intensly. a serious non clowning judah could win big against a game cory spinks i believe.
LittleBigMan 01-18-2005, 07:13 PM Kostya's reign will come to an end at the hands of Hatton. I know it. Feel it. His time is up. 35 years of age. A great champion, yes. But the sun will set on him as a new king of the division claims his crown.
The king is dead. Long live the King.
you are as dumb as your avatar
4 MORE YEARS FOR BUSH, BABY
BrooklynBomber 01-18-2005, 08:11 PM Zab has skills beyond almost any fighter you can think of today
Yep, nobody can dance like him.
Boxing is 50% physical and 50% psychological and sadly Zab sux in a psychological department. No psychological toughness or focus on winning whatsoever. Just a schoolyard bully that thought that he was the **** and after he got himself schooled cant do anythin right.... Oh well.
LittleBigMan 01-18-2005, 08:50 PM AND YOU ARE FROM BROOKLYNN! jeez man
BrooklynBomber 01-18-2005, 10:26 PM AND I M ALSO JEWISH!!! HA-HA. Zab got all the talent in the world but no real boxing spirit in him. Dont get me wrong I want Zab to win and it will devastate me if he losses again but if the old Zab shows up he does not deserve a win. Just words from disappointed ex-fan :(
davico 01-18-2005, 10:33 PM I'm not at all a fan of Zab and loved seeing KT shut his big mouth, but I think that he is going to redeem himself to all his fans in this fight. He looks focused and I think he actually did learn something from the last fight. If he just keeps the presure on throughout I think it will be around a R9 or 10 KO. If he loses he will be the biggest waste of talent in recent boxing memory, and his mouth won't ever be able to convince the history books otherwise.
Sister Sledge 01-18-2005, 10:40 PM People seem to forget that Zab is still young and can learn from his mistakes. He's got all the skills in the world. He has heart, he just needs a trainer who can push him to his limits and make him do the things necessary to make one a great fighter. I don't believe he will get that with his father. He may win this fight, but he needs an upper-echelon trainer to get him over the top.
Bryght 01-18-2005, 10:50 PM People have said that Kostya's reign will come to an end against this guy or that guy and that he didn't stand a chance against Judah or against Mitchell (either time!). He crushed both guys all three times. What more do you mental midgets need to see which can possibly prove anything but the obvious? The only person who can defeat Kostya Tszyu is Kostya Tszyu. When Hatton gets beat then you'll whine about Cotto or Gatti or whoever is up-and-coming. Go sit in the corner, shut your mouths and lick your wounds. Everytime Tszyu wins, he defeats everyone of his detractors and critics...by knockout.
Enough said.

Yeah yeah! Whatever. Why don't you post this on one of those nuthugger KT threads. This aint about Kostya, this is about Judah.
jswa17 01-18-2005, 11:55 PM This match is going to be VERY VERY exciting...
can't wait to watch it!
I pick Judah in this fight...
joeboxer 02-05-2005, 07:09 PM After Judah loses he will go lose to Mayweather, then Gatti will get a shot at him and probably get messed up real bad,

Do you wanna bet i got judah 10k.

ya, tszyu will devour hatton 353 losses vs 118 losses. that is their opponent's records, for those that didn't read my thread earlier this month

if it goes to a decision, expect a riot if Judah wins
gl getting a good seat and everything
jack_the_rippuh 02-05-2005, 11:31 PM Well that's the end of that..
