View Full Version : Best heavyweight glass jaw tonytucker 01-12-2005, 02:53 PM Who would have the most glass in his chin of the known rated heavyweights. Tucker's choice would be Jeremy Williams. Later brother brolog. Mr. Ryan 01-12-2005, 03:05 PM Jeremy Williams' chin may be worse than Michael Grant's. Ironically, I was watching Jeremy Williams' first round KO of Phil Jackson this morning. Sean O'Grady was talking about how bad his chin was. How do you get KO'ed that brutally on an Akinwande shot that he didn't commit to. tonytucker 01-12-2005, 03:46 PM Jeremy Williams would not have gotten up from those punches from Guinn. Later brother brolog. The1God 01-12-2005, 04:20 PM I would go with Tommy Morrison unless you are talking current. The Williams, but then again, he announced his retirement. So I don't know who the hell I would go with, but ****... Majority of the HWs out there, if they hit you sqare on the jaw, they make your jaw look glass. bigdlb12 01-12-2005, 04:21 PM First thing that comes to mind is Michael Grant and Wald Klitsko ,but Jeremy Williams is bad, Maybe thinner that glass jayschre 01-12-2005, 04:31 PM This isn't even close the all-time winner of this category is hands down Michael Grant!!! Want proof, just watch his bout against McCline where he not only was dropped with the very first punch of the fight (a jab-hook type punch with not much on it, sort of a range finding shot), but as he fell he broke his fookin ankle, the only reason he got up and lasted 30 seconds longer was out of sheer embaressment cause at that point he even had a look on his face like "Damn, I am the worst ****in fighter of all time"! Mick Hucknall 01-12-2005, 04:39 PM LMAO!! would love to ****ing see that. scap 01-12-2005, 05:30 PM Yup Tommy Morrison had one glass jaw alright...I loved watching him fight though... Good to have you back TNT!It appears that the rumors of my death were false, though they had me completely convinced that TNT was no more. Glad to be back, Scap. The Fix 01-12-2005, 10:19 PM i thought toneytucker was banned? anyway the glass chin award goes to micheal grant end of story Duncan 01-12-2005, 10:55 PM Tommy Morrison without a doubt. Pno 01-13-2005, 12:45 AM speaking of which... can a glass jaw be helped? I know there are neck exercises and the old jaw flex, but can someone seriously be taught how to take a punch? Like get beat in the head with a 2x4 once a day and have it built up? louscapps 01-13-2005, 11:57 AM somebody has to mention Johnny ruiz why do you think he he adapted the fight game to punck and grab... tua scared the lining $#!t out of him with the fastest ko on the books without punch grab it would be obvious... and also maybe rjj was so good for so long nobody ever knew that he couldn't take a punch... there had to be a reason why he was so scared to take a challenging fight Toller 01-13-2005, 03:12 PM I remember a thread about boxers with great chins a few years ago on some forum and Roy Jones got a mention from a couple of posters! :D Seriously though I don't think it's as bad as his last couple of fights have made it seem. Ruiz did hit him clean, and that's a heavyweight with a decent punch hitting a former middleweight. Ruiz did hit him clean, and that's a heavyweight with a decent punch hitting a former middleweight. I was saying that for years. I was watching the Montell Griffin I fight, and he did something that fighters with bad chins against light punchers do: They make a face that shows they don't like getting hit. I saw that from Wladmir and Michael Grant. About the chin exercises, go here: http://www.rossboxing.com/thegym/thegym15.htm |
