Look in the june 16th (1984) edition of Boxing News though & where it discusses who's going to the olympics it says that chris Eubanks who lives in south bronx & was joint third welter in the USA declined the opportunity to have a boxoff with mickey Hughes to decide who represented GB in LA. it mentioned him as brother of peter Eubanks who beat Mcguigan.

OK, now we are getting somewhere LOL Because I have the 1986 Ohio State Fair results.. so I am going to check them out later when I get home and if Eubanks name isnt in there then I am going to have you guys throw that site away that you are getting thi sinfofrom LOL I will let u know ASAP.

Eubank turned pro in 1985,so how could he compete at 1986 amateur show?

According to that record in your post it counts up Eubank's amateur record as 21-7,but according to boxing-records.com it was 19-7 -

Eubank doesnt say anything about his amateur days in his book other than that he unexpectedly got to the semifinals of the Golden Gloves with no trainer and then won the Spanish version.

I HATE (LOL) to keep squashing all these bogus amateur records that you get from somewehre BUT... at the 1986 Ohio Sate Fair at 156 pounds (or any other weight) there was no Sosa, Eubanks or Warren Williams. The 156 pound class consisted of... Tim Richards, Thomas Barnett, Donell Solomon, Eddie Lawrence, Keith Bradley, Tom Shrider, Bennie Harris and Shawn Harris.

Its interesting that when Eubank was coming up the ranks he fought on undercards of guys like Charles Williams,Dwight Muhammad Qawi,John David Jackson,Frankie Randall,Duke McKenzie,Michael Watson,Nigel Benn,Gary Mason,Lennox Lewis and Azumah Nelson as well as sparring partner of guys like Kevin Rooney,Herol Graham and Mike Mccallum. That was before he was the main event and before he was the one employing spar partners,he came up the hard way and doesnt get enough credit for that. He wasnt an Audley Harrison who gets paid a million pounds before he even has one fight,he struggled and had a love-hate relationship with the sport(didnt know if he was going to make a career out of it until Tony Logan fight) and hard times pre-1990.
