View Full Version : Canada Wins World Jr. Hockey GOLD
Again, the modestly populated federation of Canada walked through the World Junior Hockey Championships, soundly beating Russia 5-0 in the final.
The U.S. National Team was regarded as the heavy favourite, but lost to Russia 5-1 in the semi-final round, and then fell from the medals when they lost the broze medal game to Finland.
Canada only allowed 6 goals in their six games, with only one goal at even strength. Canada also registered 3 shutouts.
that game was awesome complete dominance by canada there

There's no doubt some of the biggest hits are thrown in the sport of hockey.
TOPitBull 01-06-2006, 09:55 PM really?
....What country do they represent again??
Bombardier 01-07-2006, 12:10 AM That tourney should have been here (Ottawa), not Vancouver. The fans there were so quiet and didn't give a ****. Over here they would have gone nuts. It was bull**** the way they didn't award it to us here (we were #2 in the running), it's just because they don't want to give anything to a government town.
As a city I prefer Vancouver to Ottawa but for a junior tournament you can't go with a place with a big-city mentality. This is real hockey country over here.
-Jay- 01-07-2006, 03:04 AM I wish i liked hockey, but I find it hard to enjoy because I barely know any of the rules, and everytime I've tried to learn to ice skate I've almost smashed my head open.

Yeah but the Flames choked bad in the finals. They couldn't take being up 3 games to 2 and handed the cup to Tampa. It was a real bad meltdown.
I'm a Canadiens fans, really, not a Senators one. Not that that means much these days...
The Olympics are probably gonna' be a different story.
have you checked-out the line up for the Czechs, **** me!
