They're about even in my opinion but I'll take A.W.O.L over every Nas album except Illmatic and It Was Written.

I knew you'd pick your boy Sosa, but Nas > AZ, IMO. Go rhyme for rhyme, or album for album. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of both, but, Nas is "Flyer". They need to do that collabo album they were talking about a year or 2 ago. That would be the ****.

Nas is the flyest. AZ can compete with Nas lyrically but not with beats.

I think a lot of people just wouldn't be able to accept someone like AZ (who has been in Nasirs shadow his entire career) surpassing him...no matter how many more classics he came out with.

AZ's only album with average/good beats was on Pieces of a Man. every other album has had GREAT production. I can name an AZ song with a great beat for every Nas song someone can name with a great beat.

Seriously try me...

Anyway, I think Nas has had a 'bigger' impact on the game, but he's fallen off a bit and AZ stays as strong as he's ever been. I think the best may be yet to come from the visualizer. Anyway you slice it they are both in my top 20.

I actually would like to do this...just to show the kids how dope both are.

Yeah most dont even know who AZ is. AZ > Jay-Z, that's for sure. I dont think Nas has fallen off though, I think every album of his has been a banger except "Nastradamus" which, was extremely average. He came back with "Stillmatic" which was an insane album. "God's Son" was dope, dont know why people hate on this, maybe because it's too "personal". "Street's Disciple" was solid, could have done without a couple of those tracks. I just think Nas' catalog is stronger than Sosa's, but both are very close as far as where they are on the ladder of the greats.

I think Nas edges him out slightly just based on impact to the game wise, but I am a bigger AZ fan than Nas. Both are tight mcs.

AZ>Jay Z...

I was listening to Illmatic more carefully today and it's a great album...after I finished listening to it I popped in A.W.O.L...

They both got diff styles, can't choose...

Jay-Z ain't even on their level..

people all disagree on what nas album is best i notice

to me stillmatic followed by nastradamus is top...streets disciple has good tunes but aint so easy to get into for me...and he my favourite rapper

people over here dont even know AZ...i have AWOL and is one of best albums ive heard

much better than what the games been missing which is what i was told was album of the year

I don't see why people rate Stillmatic lower then Illmatic. Stillmatic had so many damn songs that you can vibe to while Illmatic has about 2 or 3.
