Anyone else watch this? It's the only regular, new episode network show that I watch on a regular basis.

I bought the first season on DVD after watching all the episodes last season. I thought they were going to resolve everything especially since the ratings slipped after the average person's head exploded while they tried to figure out what was going on.

But they re-upped for another season, and I for one am thankful. Give it a shot for one episode; you'll be hooked.

I never saw the show at all until I was on vacation last week. Watched the entire first season and now I'm hooked. Episode 1 of season two was pretty damn good.

They lost a lot of their original audience last year; ratings went down so much that there was doubt as to a second season. They hyped the season finale as an episode that would bring about resolution and it really didn't.

The first 10 minutes of this season was what I expected for last season's finale. There's a definite, more coherent and focused direction. This is probably their design, as they figured a lot of the audience that abandoned them last season would check out the opener due to curiosity. Maybe the writing will meander a little bit less to satisfy their overall audience. I just hope they don't dumb it down. Part of the appeal to me is trying to figure out just what the hell is going on.

Apparently,

1) Brother Justin's "church" will be a site for nuclear testing? The time frame, location, and mushroom cloud setting displayed by Management suggests we're headed for a good vs. evil, nuclear arms race plotline.

2) Brother Justin is not human at all and will bleed blue as demons do when Scudder is executed? Was that a horn he caught his comb on? My first thought was he was going to scar and "mark" himself Revelation-style, but the horn idea (via phone from my mom watching across town) seems more likely.

3) What's with the sexual tension between Justin and his sister? Does he even have the equipment that would give him those impulses or is it just another example of his "Evil"

4) I can't believe we saw who lived, who died, the identity of management, the reason management is interested in Hawkins, and the end of Appolonia's character all in the first 10 minutes of the season.

They're not wasting time in moving this all along.

Can't wait for next week...

The Wire is suffering the same fate. They left many unasnwered questions and HBO may not bring them back for season 4 due to low ratings.

damn I missed it, they have the whole 1st season on on-demand for free but its 12 or 15 episodes and each are an hour long, I am going to have to do some serious catching up

I've never seen the show but I may have to check it out.

I'm looking forward to season 2 of Deadwood. That show is out of control!

HBO2 and HBO Signature both show replays during the week...

I'd record that first season of Carnivale if I were you - the DVD set costs anywhere from 64 to 80 bucks, depending where you buy it.

Wow, there are others. I was convinced I was the only one who watched this show that was not a complete nerd!!!! Oh, wait a minute....

Either way, yeah its an awesome show. Its like a cross between Stephen King's The Stand and The Grapes of Wrath.

Alot of this show IMO is mistaken identity. Scudder and Ben are on the same side. Management is trying to trick Ben into leading him to Scudder so Management and Justin can kill him.

I am still not convinced that Justin actually is the usher.
After all, didn't the usher rape Appolonia? Isn't Sophie the daughter of the usher?
