I think it would be a good idea to delete all the user accounts with no posts and tht have not been used in the past 6 months , beacause one of my friends joined and couldnt get the name he wanted beacuse some one had taken it who had never used there account ;)

I don't think that this is a good idea because some people just like to read what's been posted on here. Before I made my account I only read the forums for over half a year when there was an interessting fight. Just to see what other ppl were thinking about it.

maybe if it gave notice somehow

like have a button they have to press to activate their account after 30 days. after that, it goes to in-active mode. after say 3-6 months of staying inactive, it is automatically deleted.

maybe people should just have to log in once every six months but not necessarily post to keep the account

Yeah, true.

I mean even if they were given absolutely no notification, and they had no posts. Really -- what harm has been done. If the email is deleted from the database also, then they can re-sign up again, and havent really lost anything other than 5 minutes of their time taken to re-enter into the site.... :boxing:

i saw ban them all. it makes no sense at all to leave them. I say delete them and if they want back on they can create another account. Its that simple.

sometimes it takes awhile for the registration email to land

but in theory the idea is good.

i think ya should have to activate your account once a year,
or it gets deleted. only the accounts with 0 posts of course
