Mike Tyson Showtimes co-analyst?

Posted by: tysonian

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently news goes around that Mike Tyson approached Larkin of Showtime and asked if there was a oppurtunity for him as a co-analyst. The response from Larkin was very serious and he said that Tyson's request was taken very seriouslly, because he feels Tyson does have a alot of knowlegde and provided he attends all the behind the seens stuff, ie meetings etc, then it could be a possibilty.

Wheter this will affect Mikes carreer as a boxer is yet undetermined. Mike Tyson has been co-analyst on several events (namely K-1 fights) and did exclusive commenting jobs for several boxing documentaries during his boxing carreer. Aswell as other boxers filled the role of co-analyst during an active carreer in the ring

I can't say I heard him comment on boxing fights before (though I'm not so sure  ). And I know his good with the history. But is he any good?

I know Tyson was a guest commentator for Showtime during a few fights in the mid-90s, namely Hopkins vs. Mercado II and Brown vs. Pettway. He provided some pretty good insight.

Tyson probably knows more about boxing than anybody on the planet. The insight he can offer is amazing. I hope Showtime hires him.

If it happens it would be interesting, Tyson knows his boxing but he has a tendency to snap and say somthing pretty wild.

I'd like him more than Bobby Czyz, who happens to be one of his biggest nuthuggers lol

I agree tyson knows his boxing and is still a big draw reguardless if he's in the ring or not. People would go to showtime fight just to see mike or even try to make mike snap.
