Im actually surprised this hasnt been talked about. Though I would really wish someone would beat Donaire, I doubt Mares has what it takes to do it especially since he has fought no natural superbantamweight. A win against Vazquez Jr. would be more telling than a a win against Moreno.

to be honest I think Mares would have tons of trouble against WV2. WV2 is at a point where he can take on anyone and beat them. I think WV2 will beat Juanma if they fight.

WV2 is tough as nails, he stood toe to toe against Nonito and gave a good account of himself to the world. This guy is no easy fight for anyone.

I do believe Leo Santa Cruz is better than Mares as a fighter.

Pretty much my thoughts, though I think Juanma ko's Vazquez Jr., even though the latter has shown better boxing skills.

I think Vazquez Jr. should have one or two fights a featherweight before taking on Juanma.

I agree with the bold.

i think Mares is too small for them, even against Donaire his going to look small

i like Wilfredito against JuanMa, they gotta make that fight, man Puerto Rico is falling off they can bring it back if they make this fight

i think Mares beats Rigon

Well you are already looking like a fool so Im gonna sit on a corner and watch how many other mexicans think this is gonna be a tough fight.:fing26:

I agree that Lopez beats Vazquez though. Also IMO if the Vazquez that fought Donaire was the same Vazquez that fought Arce, he would have gotten KTFO in 4 rounds.

He can't even beat super duper shot Arce (who was supposed to lose to him) but he can beat red-hot Mares?

WV2 looked ****ty against Donaire becasue he was not trying to really win, he was trying to survive.. He fought like Clottey fought against Pacquiao, Didnt throw much, just blocked Donaire's punches. The scorecards in that fight were rediculous.. Donaire clearly won.. If anyone thought WV2 and Donaire was competetive, they must be crazy!! Mares would beat WV2 easily.. Come on people look at what slow ass Arce did to him..

After reading your comment,

seeing Donaire's face at the end of the Vazquez fight, and reading the compubox stats:

now Im glad Vazquez fought scared, otherwise he might have had murder on his hands. Good job Vazquez Jr., life is more important than winning.:headbang:

A win against WV2 will be his only win against a 122 rank fighter. Nothing to brag about, WV2 is not good, but Mares only fights at the weight he is champion is against 118lb. Good fighters, but not from the weight class.

I agree, Vazquez Jr. can handle pressure well. Arce fight was more of him getting tired at the end.

I have Mares by stoppage, regardless of size what I think would bother WV more is the pressure. That's how he lost against Arce, just plain balls out constant agression. WV got tired because of the constant pressure, he did well early but he couldn't handle it in the long run. That's why he was better against Nonito because he was able to use his jab and tatoo it into Donaire's face. He wasn't able to do that with Arce because Arce's experience didn't let him get comfortable and get his distance. That's why that Choko guy had some success against WV too.

What impressed you about that video.. Donaire had his hand injured badly in that fight and still outlanded WV2.. The HBO commentators were praising WV2 for his defense and thats it.. You got to be kidding me with your stupidity..:nono:

I don't see how would WV2 beat Mares unless he catchs him with a punch and even at that Mares chin is really good.

Mares proved that he studies his opponents and trains with a good game plan. No way I see WV2 beating Mares

Feather fisted bantamweight champ Anselmo Moreno hurt Mares several times I can't imagine what a strong super bantam will do to Mares.

One thing that makes me doubt mares is his conditioning, he seems to get tired late which is not a common characteristic among Mexican boxers.

I think Mares has enough pop to keep people at bay. Also he faced two punchers in Abegko and Vic (a fight he was cut early) and he weathered those storms.
