yeah, i'd say 100 mil is about right, and now that he has his promotional company, he's sure to make tons more. good for him though. people hate on him, but he is great for the sport.

150-200 Million.

You have to consider the guy made 30 million just for his last fight.

he is worth a lot, bcos he literally fought everyone, he is one who deserved his money... thinking about it it's one of the few cases in which life is fair, he is one of the few guys who never dodged anyone (he actually did more than that: he looked for hopkins), he seems a decent person who has respect for his opponent and for the public. and he is the richest... what goes around comes around...

except for his music career for which he should have paid... but what can you do?

I wouldn't say he has respect for his opponents at the negotiation table.

I wouldn't say he has respect for his opponents at the negotiation table.

are we talking money here? if so I guess you are right, but more money is better and the more you get the less your opponent is going to get.

I would not call it disrespect I would it call greed typical of human beings, in this case the human being is the biggest draw of boxing.

at least he gets the fights done at least unlike hopkins and jones (who are far better fighters but they fight nobodys half of the times), so he is probably showing more respect than these guys do.

if you are referring to something else, I am pretty unknowledgable about it so you are probably right in this case too

i dont even think people know exactly how much this guy is pulling down. example , vs hopkins he made 30 million just signing his name to the contract. he also made a percentage of ppv money and god knows what other percentages of money he got his hands on. id say for the hopkins fight alone he probably got over 40 million.

I remember when goerge foreman was still a host on hbo,he once said that ODLH had over 200 million in the bank from only boxing, commercial, clothing line,tv show, promotion company etc.. might put that over 300 million, keep in mind that this was said while foreman was still there, he has been gone for sometime now, right?

How does a father train another person to beat the hell out of his son? Does anyone feel that Oscar should maybe think about what he is asking of his trainer? Unless the winner is already decided and the whole thing is just a show (like Hopkins and a few others) Not that Oscar knows anything about being a father or caring about what happens to your son..... I have a son with Oscar... and he has no love at all for him... 6 years without making one phone call to his own son. So I guess he thinks Mayweather Sr. should not care about his son in the same.

listen up kids,

First of all DLH is not the only guy who has made over 150m, yeah hes the only the guy in the lower divions to have made over 150m but he isnt the richest boxer of all time. if u look at all these guyz they have also made quite a lot of money :

1. RJJ (richest middleweight-heavyweight Except for mike tyson)hes made around 180-185 millions fighting bums and washed fighters but yeah hes THAT rich.

2. Holyfield : he has made around 160m+

3. Lennox lewis has also made around 150m+

4. Mike Tyson : richest boxer of all time, he made over 350m+ but blew it all......

As far as i know oscar has made over 170+(after the mayorga fight) but will prolly end up with over 200+ But yeah hes super rich and has his own yatcht and stuff. but remember kids all these guyz had to work their a$$ off to make all this money, and its not like they were born in some billionire familiy or somethin.. so imo they fully deserve their $$$. You also have to look at other sportsman's to see how much money there making, look at michael owen(soccer player) who makes cool $200k a Week(yeah thats right) sitting in the pyscio's room. and he only played like 10 matches last season.. :D

I would guess that Oscar has made 150-200mil so far, and much more will come his way. He deserves it, though.

All of us here like a sport that happens to not be as mainstream as it once was, and its athletes get paid far less because of it. One of the reasons their is a dearth of good heavyweights, I read, is because many of the taller, stronger athletes who could become heavyweight boxers choose basketball instead. Less physically dangerous with a ****load more money.

NBA players can make $20 million a year, play for ten, fifteen years and promise themselves the amount of money we think Oscar might be worth right now. That's pure salary win or lose, without any of the endorsement deals they get factored in.

However much Oscar has made its less than some other athletes would make..even with his promotion company, which may eventually bring him out on top, he probably has made less money than a LeBron James will, for instance.

Smokin'
07-31-2006, 04:15 PM
I seriously doubt he has made that much in his career. Maybe he has now with his promotional company and all of that but before that...I seriously doubt it. He never had any major endorsments like Tyson/Ray Leonard and to an extent what Holyfield had. Tyson was the highest paid athlete ever, and I remember reading figures of around 140-160 million. DelaHoya doesn't even come near that.
