can he beat any of the top light heavyweights with a convincing win? he said he might go back to 168, does he stand a chance at 168 anymore, or is it the end of one of the best p4p fighters ever, he was never the same since he gained 25 pounds and than lost 25 pounds, i think that was the biggest mistake in hes career

Maybe a goodbye fight against someone that he already beat. Someone like
Julio César González.

I agree. Goodbye Roy, you won't be missed.

Why see? He's got plenty of money, a high-profile side job, endorsements, his brains still intact...

Scheduling a second-rate fighter to go out against would be shameful; Scheduling a first-rate fighter could be dangerous.

i agree roy is done and has other things to be focused on. he has to move on because to continue could be dangerous.

Or not. Gonzalez beat Johnson, and we all know what Johnson did to Jones.

Please Roy, don't come back!!! besides being destroyed by moving up and down in weight so drastically, that last knockout by Johnson probably shook Roy's confidence as well, i don't want to see him in the ring if he doesn't really believe he can win AND he's a lot less than a 100% physically.

thats true, going back to Light Heavy was a horrible mistake, if Tarver really wanted him, he could have went to HW and got served, losing that weight ****ed Roy for good. I hope he just sticks to broadcasting. He has accomplished alot and he should get out while the gettings good.

He never should have made the jump up to heavyweight in the first place. He wouldn't have been able to accomplish much of anything at heavyweight and that's why he came back down after only one fight. Yes, losing the weight hurt him. 2 of Nunn's losses occurred when he went down in weight. His other two losses were a loss to Toney (nothing wrong with that) and a SD. 4 months prior to RJJ's win over Ruiz, Vitali beat Larry Donald in a WBA title eliminator. In the end Jones father was right, making the jump to heavyweight was not worth it.

That was a month ago, and I try not to rub it in now. But I can't fault other people for doing what RJJ did so well.

His opponents arent scared of him anymore, Roy is gonna have a very hard time against opponents that come at him like Johnson did.

Jones KO late over Layla Ali. Layla will knock Roy down early but Jones comes back late with good bodyshots to take her out.

LOL. Seriously, Roy could win some fights against some semi-talented guys, but he's probably a barely top 10 light heavy right now, and it's only going to get worse. There's no point in carrying on.

Roy can still **** people up if he WANTED to. But he doesn't and views boxing as work now. The only thing he lost was his will.

When RJJ fought Johnson it looked like to me he was sitting on his win. I think that he was going to turn it up in the last few rounds and go for the ko. Cause if you watch it he wasn't really doing anything. Seems like he wanted to have the underdog appearance until he got on the ball.

what Roy Jones jr did in his career is 10 times better than what the klitschko brothers have done, yes Roy is done, but he lost his will to fight in the ring anymore, he doesnt have to fight anymore hes not hungry for it, he has other business to attend, unlike Roy, wlad was exposed, vitali hasnt done nothing yet, except beat an old fat sanders and now he gets the credit like his the best heavyweight in the world, o and you say toney beat roy, go check jones jr record again you might find a surprise

Roy is the only boxer i can think of who was already in hall of fame years before his retirement, a great talent like RJJ only comes around once every fifty years, we all should be happy with what he's done, including RJJ himself

Totally agree. It will be while before we see a guy with the natural gifts of Roy again (if ever). He was a once-in-a-generation type of talent, so much quickness and power that he didn't need skills to blow out even top contenders. I was glad to be able to witness it.

Yes and I am glad he is from my hometown. "Pensacola in the house."
