View Full Version : Who else sees Rahman beating Vitali on May 14th?
PRboxingfan 01-07-2005, 12:52 PM As reported on **********.net:
January 07, 2005 - Sources from Team Rahman have informed **********.com that the eagerly anticipated heavyweight title fight between WBC champion Vitali Klitschko and mandatory challenger Hasim Rahman will likely take place on HBO on May 14 at either Madison Square Garden, The MGM Grand or The Mandalay Bay. It is not yet known whether or not the fight will appear on HBO World Championship Boxing, or HBO PPV. **********.com will continue to keep you updated so stay tuned! Remember Where You Heard It First! (12:30 AM ET)
I think Rahman actually wins this fight by KO in the 8th or 9th round after Vitali shows his stamina is the worst since Ricardo Williams.
Kimmy 01-07-2005, 12:56 PM Couldn`t deagree more. If Klit had a bad chin i`d give Rahman punchers chance but overall i feel Klit is just good at what he does. Rahman is a decent boxer but give away too much reach and height to outbox Klit. Also, barring the loss to Holyfield and Ruiz Rahman has been KO`d in all his losses. Corrie Sanders nearly KO`ed him too. Klit hits to hard and i think he gets Rahman out in 7 rds!
Mick Hucknall 01-07-2005, 01:09 PM I have a funny feeling about this won. I see Hasim Rahman winnig this won by KO anyone wanna bet?
Zab Super Judah 01-07-2005, 01:13 PM I'd go with Rahman over vitali.....if vitali beats rahman .....the only other heavyweight fight I'd like to see is toney vs vitali
PRboxingfan 01-07-2005, 01:13 PM Kimmy, I know what you're saying and Vitali has never been KD much less KO'd before but he does have a stamina problem that is undeniable. The Rock is too smart for him and will wear him down and finally KO him due, mostly, to Vitali being exhausted. If he comes in with very good conditioning then he has a shot even though I think the Rock is capable of outboxing him just like Byrd was doing at the end of their fight.
TheGreat1 01-07-2005, 01:13 PM it should be a very good fight. I don't think Rahman can win 7 rounds but i do think he can do enough damage to KO klit in the later rounds. Rahman has a very good jab that should be able to keep VK honest, and not come at as hard as normal. Great fight, i would pay to see it. i was looking to take a trip to Vagas in april, looks like i'm going in may now.

What about the Tuaman? I think Tua can knock Vitali into, not only next week, but into a parallel universe.
Zab Super Judah 01-07-2005, 01:15 PM if the rock comes in in shape.....he has one of the best shots at beating vitali.....rock does have a good jab but not sure if he cna reach vitali........but I think vitali's stamina is worse than rahman......this will not go 12 rounds.......someone will be tko'd and that someone could be vitali
Zab Super Judah 01-07-2005, 01:17 PM lol tua vs vitali would be funny cause tua cannot be knocked out with that iron chin.....lol but vitali probably will beat tua if he weathers the early storm....tua isnt a great boxer.....hes jus a guy with a great chin and a powerful punch...but he has no boxing skill
Zab Super Judah 01-07-2005, 01:17 PM i hope this is on regular hbo......no more ppvs pl;ease
jabsRstiff 01-07-2005, 01:41 PM I have seen Rahman beaten too many times, & too conclusively, to envision him beating V. Klit.
Is this new found faith in Hasim based on his thumping of Meehan ?
It has to be....Rahman hasn't done much, in a long time, besides that.
He lost to Holyfield (who owned him) & Ruiz....& I wasn't impressed with his victory over the lethargic-as-always Tua.
Klit in 5.
I don't understand where you are getting VK's stamina problems from?
where is your evidence? how do you back up these claims?
Alot of VK's KO's come late in the fight(wiliams, sanders, donald, purrity, bean, etc., i think the stamina problem is a myth... against williams the HBO team kept saying VK was looking tired, but he kept right on beating williams to a pulp.... ask williams if VK was tired...
Rahman has pulled a sharmba mitchell on you guys... in other words he hasn't beaten a GOOD fighter in years, but he's got some wins against BUMS and people think he's back at the top... just like mitchell, he'll collapse against his first REAL test in years....
Eyeh8you 01-07-2005, 02:27 PM Im gonna put my money on the big white guy!
How long will it take before people understand how goog vk is, no way he will lose to rahman but it will still be a great fight.

Empirical evidence. Look at his fights against Sanders, Lewis, Williams, hell, even Chris Byrd. In all those fights he was breathing hard and through his mouth after the first couple of rounds. He looks tired, he breathes hard, and when he gives interviews after fights it seems like he's still huffin' and puffin' trying to find his breath.
I think a MOTIVATED, IN-SHAPE Rahman is good enough to beat any HW except for Byrd and Toney. I think Rahman (motivated and in-shape) beats the living daylights out of The Quiet Man if they meet again and he boxed circles around Tua (not hard to do, really, but still impressive that he can take the shots Tua hands out). His jab and boxing skills are superior to Vitali's (and most HW's) and that should be the deciding factor.
- Evil - 01-07-2005, 03:09 PM Rahman has a punchers chance but i dont expect to see another Lewis situation.

um he always breaths out of his mouth (stupid, yes but does it any way) This is just ppl wanting The Rock to win. He will lose, but I pray to god he comes in shape to this fight so the nonbellievers can't use the "Oh he only fights out of shape hand picke oppents" BS
Vk is the best HW is the business right now. There is no one that can beat him and the only one with an ok chance is toney. Toney will lose Bryd will lose Rock will lose, and so will ruiz. there is no one that stands a chance. And im wondering what VK has to do to get peoples respect?
TheGreat1 01-07-2005, 03:18 PM i can't access Boxrec from my work computer, can someone please tell me the arm lenth of both fighters. I know Rahman has a pretty long reach, but not sure long compared to VK. I know he was able to jab LL

Paint his skin a darker color :p

Klit in 5.
i know it was alot of bums, but rahman had a good year, winning 6 fights i think, 5 by KO. and is in better shape than when he fought LL the 1st time.
Paint his skin a darker color :p
haha maybe
jabsRstiff 01-07-2005, 03:30 PM It has nothing to do with his skin color.
People look at Klit, & see this oaf with numerous flaws....& can't believe he can be effective.
It hurts their boxing senses to see him successful.
But,he's tough....he's smart....he's huge....& the heavyweights around him are a bunch of CHUMPS.

This is absolutely sad... who cares if he breathes through his mouth, or stand flat-footed, or is white? all that matters is if he WINS. The fights you named above... you talk about look at VK in those fights, why don't you look at his opponents as well? were they busted up, tired? If VK had an experience like WK against Ross Purity, I could understand the basis of your arguement, but he didn't.
He had a bigger problem with beating the crap out of his hands on Williams FACE than he did with breathing through his mouth.
and this bit about " beat any HW except for Byrd and Toney.." I just can't take your logic any more brother :) LOLOLOL
sorry no offense, but wow..
RobbieD 01-07-2005, 03:40 PM Right now, I'm thinking there isn't anyone out there who can stop Klitchsko but closer to the fight, I'll probably get closer and closer to giving Rahman a good chance.
Rahman gets KO'd in brutal fashion, that is my prediction.
tri4ben2 01-07-2005, 04:21 PM Saying that Rahman has six wins this year means absolutely nothing. VK would be 6-0 against that same opposition and nobody here is going to deny it.
Rahman marginally deserves a chance, but he is simply not good enough to take down Vitaly. Is he going to stand up to a barage of puches like DW did in order to fing one or two openings and KO VK with a monster punch? Or is he going to try to outbox Vitaly and win rounds?
Vitaly KO8, just like those before him.
As reported on **********.net:
I think Rahman actually wins this fight by KO in the 8th or 9th round after Vitali shows his stamina is the worst since Ricardo Williams.
....I see big Vit knocking Rahman through the ropes ala Maskaev and that will be the end of Rahman.
onikami 01-07-2005, 04:25 PM The Heavyweight division is in such a mess, anyone can win a belt.

....Yeah, what logic is that?? :)
i can't see rahman winning!!
even though i aint no fan of vitali i just dont see rahman getting close enough with a good jab to put vitali out of his stride.
vitali ko10 or 11!!!
paulmmv 01-07-2005, 04:30 PM vitali wins by knockout without any trouble
dansweeney 01-07-2005, 04:36 PM Rahman by savage kayo in the 9th round, vitali falls to the ground hard then tries to get up but staggers all over the ****ing ring and the ref calls a hault to the action
VK TKOs Rahman, but somewhere along the fight, Rahman hits VK hard enough to where he realizes that he shouldn't even give Don King a chance therefore taking the stance of the democratic world "we will NOT negotiate with Terrorists!"
:D

Kball15 08-29-2007, 05:22 AM I LOVE how NOBODY in this thread at that time was aware of the fact that they would be watching the greatest fight of all time in just a few months
OptimusWolf 08-29-2007, 05:43 AM I love how the analysis on the first page is so bad!
Rahman has good stamina
He's going to KO vitali......ok, try beating Toney first, or maybe Maskaev....
Phunky Villian 08-29-2007, 05:48 AM not me, no. as much as i hate the klittys, rahman wont win in my eyes.
MoneyINC 08-29-2007, 11:00 AM Am i actually reading this, people are giving Rahman a chance lol.... Vitali KOs The Rock in 6....
adamk1304 08-29-2007, 11:15 AM Going by rahman's last few fights, i could see a fully fit vitali taking him out early.
Ishak Pasha 08-29-2007, 11:41 AM This is another fight you wouldve picked the loser. rachman another bumb.why you brought this 2 year old thread back? you ****ing moronic piece of ****!
The Troll 08-29-2007, 11:50 AM I think the blind man that takes walks down my street each day said he going with Rahman. Not sure though he's kinda hard to understand.
dmaclv 08-29-2007, 06:53 PM i dont even get this thread. Vitali runs him over, if you can't handle Toney? You need to get in the gym more or something.
