Juan Guzman talks alot. He always says he is gonna move up to Featherweight but he never does. Personally I am not super impressed with Guzman. I think he is a good fighter but I don't see what everyone else sees. He recently challenged Marquez, but I don't think he will make it out of 6 rounds with Juan Manuel. Marquez is too big, strong, tall, and powerful for Guzman. What do you guys think?

Guzman really needs to settle his issues and stop talking and get in the ring

Guzman has no chance.....didn't he came overweight on his last fight. So a jr. lightweight journeyman was replaced instead of Licona. Guzman had a hard time with that journeyman...he didn't have power at all. JMM on a boring decision :D

Marquez should forget his fight with Pacquaio for now and go after Guzman. Guzman would be a great tune up fight. Pacquaio seems to have improved a lot since the Marquez fight. From the clips I have seen, he is counter punching more, and he punches in combos and uses angles to get out of the way of counter punches. It is going to be hard for Marquez to use his counter punching style against Pacquaio next time. I think Marquez should go side to side and box 'Sugar Ray Leonard' style and he can win.
I think both Pacquaio and Marquez would knock out Guzman any day of the year.

sorry to disagree mate but you must have watched a different fight to me!!
when guzman a sup/bantan fought joe morales a sup/feather who is very durable (has only been stopped by joel casamayor on cuts)he showed a hell of alot of power for a man fighting two weights above his divsion.
he dropped him in the third(i think)and had him close to a stoppage a couple of times after that.
from what i have seen of guzman his biggest asset is his power remembering he ko'd the 27-1 (at the time)hector avila who was unconcious for five minutes after the fight and had to be carried from the ring on a stretcher.
a step up to featherwieght is probably just more of a natural progression for a heavy-handed fighter who obviously struggles to make the weight.
as for fighting marquez i'd like to see him against a good class feather first maybe somebody like manuel medina who would take his punches and still pose him problems.

Dude.. Joe Morales is 18 wins 7 losses...don't hype him up. He was just given a half-day's notice.....but Joe held his own and was never intimidated. Guzman FADED down the stretch and would have been in trouble against a BETTER-PREPARED Joe Morales.
He's not ready for JMM.

i never said he was ready for jmm!!
i was commenting more on the fact that you said he had no power even though he was fighting two weights higher than his division.
as for hyping up joe morales did you not say in this very post that he"would have been in trouble against a better prepared morales"
how prepared was guzman to be so overweight!!
that fight say's nothing apart from the fact guzman can carry his power to the higher weights.

I should have said that last sentence. :p

Anyway...my point is of all the great things we've been hearing about Guzman, he probably should have done better with an unprepared foe.

Guzman could be a sleeper.

I can remember when next to noone gave Manny more than a puncher's chance against Barrera.

Guzman vs JMM is a fight I'd like to see, although Pacman vs Guzman flicks a few switches too.

Guzman will eventually be found wanting, but I've no doubt it'll make for good viewing.
