I have had enought of it!! Where the hell have these bastards come from. They sign up get some ass hole to donate them like a million points and they rape this site of all that is good. Maybe my opinions aren`t agreed with but i give them and work for my points and karma. Then some ass comes on with no posts and contrabution and starts laughing in our face, posting bull**** and downloading the files. I don`t wanna be a kill joy but please Rick..anyone stop this crap. I am proud of my points achievement, i feel like **** when i see 10 post 22 odd million points. Devalues the whole site, and ruins a good atmostphere for true boxing fans to punch it out opinionally.

Hey, i am not blaming rick cos he does a good job, he gives us this forum that i am in debted too, many a sleepless night has found peace on this site and i know many will agree. However, enough is enough. I will karma, points, posts etc.. as a progressionally thing. You earn it, you don`t USE IT! I just want a fair shake, not these wannbes who think Muhammad Ali Vs Mike Tyson was the fight of the century ( read between the lines!!!)

i'm wid yah, it's ludacrest to see some newbie with 50-60mill in his pocket for only a handful of posts...but it's not the fault of these newbies to receive 30-40m points from somebody who has found a way to abuse the karma system...it's also to boxingscene's credit to findout loopholes that were exposed by some anomalies like this.

Would not that be the fight of the century in HW?

Who do you think would win?

yea lowering 300%

well, I don't know what how they do it, cause I've had the same amount of points for like the last 30+ posts / week.. maybe it's because I don't have so much karma...

sucks when people try to abuse a system for their own gain..
:(

thanks Rick either way for the efforts :D

PNO, bless. As for the Tyson Ali fight, Ali wins easy by forcing copper Mike into frustration. I`d say by the 8th rd Mike looks for the canvas. Ali, not just skill wise, but mentally, was at a different level.
As for the points abuse. I`d like common sense to prevail. It isn`t hard. Strip anyone with differing points values. 10 post 22 million points...you know. Just go through it one day and change it back before it is too late to notice. And like regulate it so only so much karma can be donated each day, then you can chase up the bastards etc..

yea lowering 300%

it's more than that (100,000%) from the original 10% to 0.01%, which means that if you had 3m rep points, your karma power is only worth 3k now.

That won't work, I think. The growth of Karma will still be exponential in time and eventually it will just sky-rocket. I am sure there will be people who will spend hours and hours building more and more Karma via donations etc.

I thought that a simple Karma system would be as follows:

Reward +10 points for a good post (both actual and karma points) and -10 for a bad post (10 could replaced by whatever number that is given for a single post). Posters with less than 100 posts and bad karma leveles could be restricted to have an impact of +1 or -1. I think that donations should not be rewarded with Karma points. Donations are friendly guestures that would be appreciated in any case.

This is a simple and fair system.

The growth of points in this system will be linear in time (for a fixed number of posters), and the resulting system will be easier to control.

I think that the existing Karma levels could be reset to 0 and all the money could be reset to 10 x (the number of posts). This is a currency reform system that a lot of people who care about boxing (and not about BSt) would really appreciate.

The store prices could be reset accordingly.

i don't think we should penalize people who are resourceful enuff to find ways to earn money...on the other hand they should be rewarded for exposing the flaws in the system...they also help improve this site tremendously.

You could give them some prizes and stuff (beanny-bears).

These people were not the first to expose the flaws in the system. These are the people that ruined the system by pushing these flaws to the limits.

The Karma loundering scheme was in place shortly after the introduction of Karma.

Come one now... Building Karma via donations was set in place in September already. I remember this very well, since I had some discussions about that with "Dr"_Cynical and others. I could probably pull those threads for you on Monday (I will be out for a couple of days).

A problem existed back then already, but only recently people have pushed it really to the limits.

This weekend I'm going down the list of the most richest and I'm taking millions upon millions of points back into the pot. The Karma/Points system will get back on track the right way. I have a full history of who gave what to who and who won what from bets.

People will have to start earing the points the old fashioned way, bets and posting....not begging for Karma or getting a few million for making a comment someone liked.

But I hope you leave some millions for us to use as bets for the upcoming Fantasy fights Rick. Thanks
