View Full Version : I don't give two ****s about 2005 boxing
!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 05:30 PM Well? What's to see? In the premier division there's so much red tape you'll never see a politics-free worthwhile match-up, and in the lower divisions all the heroes are washed up.
Oh - Eastman vs. Hopkins.
Other than that, I don't give two ****s.
IwatchBoxing 01-06-2005, 05:33 PM Joppy beat Eastmen a long time ago, what is he gonna do now against Hopkins?
!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 05:42 PM Are you doing this deliberately? Didn't you read my post about this very same thing? **** it, I'll sticky it just for you.
So you wont see klitschko-Rahman?
!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 05:49 PM You know, I WILL see it (If I get the chance - Don King overprices for overseas territories) but I'm not that hopefully. You either need someone really big or really skilful to beat Vitali. Rahman is neither. And if he DOES do the job it'll just be another... I won't exactly say fluke... job that would make him beatable for anyone else. He wouldn't be able to beat Vitali DEFINITIVELY, IMO.

Your right that Rahman will probably lose but stil it will be a good fight.

What is wrong with Jean Marc Mormeck VS. Wayne Braithwaite?
Pacquaio VS. Marquez II?
Kofi Jantuah VS. Kassim Ouma?
We got plenty of good fights on tap.
!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 07:17 PM You see, we don't get the regular exposure to the lower weight classes to build up the interest in England. Mind you, in England you'd be hard pressed to get the man on the street to name ONE of the top ten heavyweights, let alone the main guy.

You think thats any different in the states? Even with exposure to the lower weight classes. The average guy on the street would probably say Tyson.
!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 07:22 PM Tell you what, IWatchBoxing - how about instead of shooting some bad karma across you bows, we have a total points bet on the fight?
Because of prior commitments I have to keep 250,000 of mine but that leaves me.... let's call it 20,000,000 points. I'm a millionaire twenty times over and I'm ready to stick it all on the Jamaican with the dyed beard. If Hopkins loses you give me 12800000 - deal?
I can't believe I just said this. Eastman better win...
LuKahnLi 01-06-2005, 07:24 PM Is IwatchBoxing here?

!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 07:48 PM Now that sounds like fun... but the 300% thing is just for Karma, isn't it? I can still donate
IwatchBoxing 01-06-2005, 08:05 PM Now that sounds like fun... but the 300% thing is just for Karma, isn't it? I can still donateNope, for the point donations. So if Hopkins wins you gotta change your Icon and Sig to my chooseing (clockwise too, for a month?)?

IwatchBoxing 01-06-2005, 08:19 PM Mean if Eastmen beats Hopkins I'll lose the bet.
!! Anorak 01-06-2005, 08:32 PM Yeah, but how do we do it points-wise and so on?

okay...do you wanna bet your millions that you will talk about other fights/fighters on this board other than those two you mentioned?
Kimmy 01-06-2005, 11:10 PM Anorak, i used to live in England and the BBC used to show good fights on BBC 2 on an evening, usually Sunday. Sky was ok if it was a show, like De La Hoya, Lewis etc.. If you want good fights that u miss then check out a British Boxing magizine called Boxing Monthly. There are dvd dealers ( what a way of putting it lol ) in teh back pages. They can do you fights on a dvd for like 20 pounds. I know that watching a fight live is the real buzz but Sky sports are ass holes and teh BBC only broadcast fights when they feel like it. One comentator on the BBC i liked though was a journalist called Steve Brunce. He was sharp, straight to the point, could you sell him to HBO? I think he`d run Larry out of town!
