I just watched Tito vs. Winky again and made me think, did Tito always fight with no head movement? I have seen a couple of Tito fights but never noticed his bad defense. The only one I really saw bad defense was in his fight with Hopkins, but I figured thats only because Hopkins is so good. Did he ever have good defense or did he just over power most, so we never truley knew? It might be a dumb question but I know theres some Tito fans and haters who could answer my question.

You need to see when he fought at welterweight....
He was definitely faster, & had much better movement. Yes, he was still an offense-first fighter....but there was so much more quickness & zip to him back in '93'-'98. He wasn't such a stalking-type fighter then.

He fell too in love with his ability to swing a fight with one punch.
Happens to a lot of big punchers.

Yeah and he also used his jab better as well.

He was so pathetic against Winky, he was circling the wrong way and walking right into jabs. I know he is better than that.

Trinidad just wanted the payday. He was gonna cash in on his name and then piss off back to his retirement. He didn't even care of winning against Wright, he was getting paid well to just show up!

I was thinking after watching it, if the judges EVER gave the decision to Tito, the FBI would close down the sport. Thats how one sided the compubox numbers and rounds were, it was the true meaning of a shut out.

I also think that Trinidad is a lot better fighter than he showed against Winky. He fought like garbage for a so called offensive fighter, he was more like a pedastrian in that fight.

You have to give Winky credit. He simply outboxed Tito. I love Trinidad as much has the next guy, but he had no gameplan for Winky. He simply thought because he' Tito and Winky's not, he would just blow past him. Winky took advantage and made Tito look like a second class fighter. Did you see his face after the match?

i remember against Oscar he has thisbounce thing going on but he never moved his head. In the Middle round Oscar was tattoing him with ones and twos

Come on, it wasn't a moneygrab at all. If all Tito cared about was money then he'd take the $25 million to fight Oscar. For some reason a lot of boxing fans equate losing with not trying or caring and its silly. He was beaten by a superior technical fighter who gave him a matchup problem. Nothing more or less.

he was much more fluid as a welterweight. But he always had problems moving side to side. It had improved when he fought mayorga. Even the commentators were complimenting TITO for his improved movement. I dont think his defense is so bad. But he does have flaws. He definitely could have did much better vs winky if he just threw more punches
