Is it like a old school gym?

Is it new school?
Lots of weights and fancy machines?

Does it got a perfect atmosphere for boxing?

Share info about your gym..

Also is there like ONE trainer for 50 people?
Or you got your OWN trainer ?

1.My gym is just a basic community hall in my area.We cant get our own club coz we got no money.

2.It must be old school coz weve got no fancy machines although we have like afew light dumbells which are falling apart with age.It freezing cold aswell(just thought it might add to the "Old Schoolness"...)

3.Its not the perfect atmosphere but its good.

4.We train 3 times a week.It was started in the 70's.

5.Weve got 4 official trainers,( they're young but have lots of fight experience)and there is about 20+ in the club.

Our gym is an old school gym i would say its got no fancy machines just bags speed bags and speed balls , some weights and jump ropes

its got a good atmosphere for boxing beacuse theres trophys , pictures , and a ring in the corner,

we train 3 nights a weeks for an hour to an hour and a half per session , we have two trainers which have a lot of expierence behind them and there is two proffesional boxers who come and train

I'm a coach these days and the gym I coach at is an old school hall converted.

It has two small rings at each end, through the middle there are a selection of 9 punch bags, around the sides there are the usual mirrors, speed balls, bungee ropes, wall pads etc.
In one corner we have a small multi gym and in the opposite corner we have a matted area for circuits, sits ups and skipping etc.

We also have an steam room in the back and old changing rooms and showers!

There are around 35 juniors and 25 seniors who come and train, the gym is open Mon - Fri from 6pm - 10pm, we have the juniors from 6-8 and seniors 8-10.

Its a great little gym which is starting to produce some decent fighters!

Before i answer the original post let me just ask.
1) Naz Fan who are the pro's who train at your gym?
2) MickyHatton where abouts is your gym, i might come to some gyms, you all in the UK right?

And about my gym:
- Its old school. We have like 4 dumbells that nobody touches. We have around about 8-9 heavy bags. A Speed ball and a double end bag

- Its divided into 2 rooms. For those in the UK, you may be aware of those huts you occasionally see in the primary schools. You know the ones that are seperate from the main building with the flat roofs. For those who dont know what im talking about just scratch that out of your memory. But either way its 2 of those joined together. In one room you have the open space for skipping and groundwork. In the other room you have the speed bag and the heavy bags which surround the ring that we do padwork and sparring in.

- My gym is so great because the fighters there are teaching me so much. Im picking up so much, by just being surrounded by people who know what they are talking about and know what they are doing. There are so many fighters in my gym with like 10-20+ perfect records and loads of Knockouts and ****.....

- We have a little rivalry with another gym which is pretty close to ours and they occasionally come down and so some sparring with us.

- Oh and we have about 4 trainers. One of my trainers is being taught by one of Amir Khans trainers :D. He is really good, in fact they are all really good, friendly and up for a laugh, and dont take no **** in the ring....

- Atmosphere is tip top.

- I want to get a training video of me up one day. That **** would be cool as hell. :)

Ok cheers.

So thats 3 people that have ****ed up Peter Buckley haha.

Naz and the 2 at your club. They seem pretty decent. Both go for the pts wins. So they arent KO merchants but that is still cool...

I take it you live in Scotland based on that then.

I dunno if you got to catch it up there, but if you know who Duke McKenzie is (on the ITV commentary, and retired fighter), he is from my town. :)

my gym is above a pub but is pretty big really. Theres one ring which is about 16x16 ft (i think), 6 heavybags, one double end bag and one wall mounted hook/uppercut bag, theres a weights room with a multigym, barbells, dumbells and a couple of cardio machines.
We have about 90 licensed members but probably about 30-40 regulars, and 5 fighters, one full time instructor and two part time instructors who are the gyms best fighters as well.

Thats our website---> http://www.mungkorndamthaiboxing.co.uk/
but its sort of half finished, no ones got round to doing it yet. Ther was a picture of me fighting on there at some point but i think its got lost in translation
