I bought a jump rope to start skipping to increase my cardio. It is a cheap rubber one from the local sports chain. The others available were cotton/nylon rope, I have tried them before and found them too slow.
The rope that I have is wearing out since it does not have any bearings.
Do you guys have any suggestions for a good quality, fast and affordable rope?
Thanks.

the rubber ones are the best for speed , ive went through about 3 of them though cos after a while they seem to wear away and split

Mine is just one of those black speed ropes. No weights in the handle or anything fancy. The handle is just plastic, and so is the rope but it is weighted well so i can get some good speed out of it.........
i got a german skipping rope with steel wire, very fast and very motivating cause it hurts like hell being hit by the wire
