View Full Version : Joe Rogan Vs Wesley Snipes RastaSmoker 12-09-2005, 11:52 PM Did anyone else hear that shyt. Joe flat out called wesley snipes toa mma match. What do you guys think about that. kaps 12-09-2005, 11:55 PM Snipes actually called the UFC and asked them for a fight, Joe said he'd fight him. Nothing is signed yet, I guess they are waiting on Snipes... Smack 12-10-2005, 01:00 AM I actually busted out laughing when I first heard about this. In other news, Rogan via rear naked choke 1:23 secs into the first rd. Meester Keester 12-10-2005, 01:11 AM Joe will smash his ass. RastaSmoker 12-10-2005, 01:12 AM i think joe would win also, but wesley does know some shyt RastaSmoker 12-10-2005, 01:14 AM Wesley Snipes is a seasoned, trained martial artist in a number of different disciplines including Karate, Kung Fu and Capoeira, an African/Brazilian martial art. Snipes never approached acting from an angle like “wow, maybe one day I'll be using martial arts on films”. And even while he was training at the State University of NY in Purchase, he didn't try to include martial arts in the acting side of his life. But he has been training in martial arts since he was twelve. And he has trained in a number of styles, under some really great teachers. A lot of them come from Harlem. Snipes likes a lot of fighting styles, each one for a different reason. He loves all of the Chinese systems for line and beauty, and flexibility. And now all of this ancient Egyptian and Brazilian and Indonesian stuff that he is training in. He also trains in some African-born systems which are very deadly, where you have to train like cats fighting - wild cats in the jungle - jumping out of bushes and that kind of stuff. It is just like living in the Bronx or Brooklyn! Snipes doesn't have time for any pretty stuff. He prefers fast – strong, effective combinations. Wesley has a basic philosophy of life that guides him through all the standard craziness. He tries to keep things very spiritual. That's a strong motivation for behaviour, and a discipline and a check and balance to all of this Hollywood stuff he is in. He’s quite accomplished in martial arts and trains for his own enjoyment. Pretty much everything you see in the movies is how he really is. He stays in pretty good shape most of the time. He is always somewhere in shape or within the range of being in shape. So he can buff it up, slim it down, or tighten it up depending on what the role is. I would like to add that Snipes is doing something very wise, something that Bruce Lee first started doing. He and his crew search for effective martial arts techniques and find a way to incorporate them in their films. He may not have the kicking abilities of Jean Claude Van Damme but what he lacks in flexibility he gains in innovation and charisma. He uses street-smart moves and he has created his own style of fighting, thus creating history in martial arts films. Smack 12-10-2005, 01:20 AM I had heard Snipes had trained in certain arts before, never knew how true it was though. Rogan still blisters his' ass though. Meester Keester 12-10-2005, 01:23 AM I had heard Snipes had trained in certain arts before, never knew how true it was though. Rogan stil blisters his' ass though. Rogan KNOX his head off. kaps 12-10-2005, 02:25 AM Snipes is a TMA guy, which wont do him very good in an MMA setting... Fallout 12-10-2005, 02:29 AM Rogan is a training parter of Eddie Bravo. Rogan has some legitimate skills on the ground and has a great TMD backround standing up. I am actually a little be embarrassed to say I'd like to see this fight. Smack 12-10-2005, 02:39 AM I am actually a little be embarrassed to say I'd like to see this fight. Yup, if nothing more then the novelty of watching 2 actors that have some fighting background, go head to head. BTW I've heard that Rogan was a TKD champ when he was in his early 20's. Can anybody verify this for me? LHWchamp5 12-10-2005, 10:03 AM This is a mockary to the sport.. Hope the opening bell dings, they both rush to centre of the octagon where they collide heads simultaneously KOing each other so the winner will be decided by who wakes up first ala(newton/hughes) Seriously, if the UFC's ratings are hurting that bad, y dont' they just become a wrestling org, or even better shut down and free all those fighters from the slave labour the UFC is famous for.. Anybody else think this is the stupidest thing they ever heard?? Rogan is a trained fighter, so y doesn't he fight a trained fighter?? Snipes did tae-kwon-do as a kid and i'm not too sure if he studied anything in his adult life, but someone better tell him this **** isnt choreographed lol... Hope snipes breaks rogans jaw, then we dont' have to listen to his ****ty announcing for a while.. Sir_Jose 12-10-2005, 11:24 AM Rogan KNOX his head off. Huh. I didn't even put the two together. Meester Keester 12-10-2005, 03:27 PM Huh. I didn't even put the two together. The avatar sold me. Smack 12-10-2005, 05:27 PM You're a regular Sherlock ****ing Holmes, aren't yeah ******? hotbox23 12-10-2005, 05:42 PM how could you guys bet against snipes the man kills vampires for god sakes... Meester Keester 12-10-2005, 05:59 PM You're a regular Sherlock ****ing Holmes, aren't yeah ******? No, I just know you all too well. Smack 12-10-2005, 06:28 PM No, I just know you all too well. You come off as a creepy little bastard. Meester Keester 12-10-2005, 06:33 PM You come off as a creepy little bastard. Stop. You and I both know who the CLB is. Smack 12-10-2005, 06:45 PM Stop. You and I both know who the CLB is. **** off, falps. momita 12-11-2005, 10:53 PM Snipes is a TMA guy, which wont do him very good in an MMA setting... I hadn't thought about that kaps..... Joe trains pretty hard too, he's had a few dandy black eyes to show for it! LHWchamp5 12-12-2005, 08:41 AM Here's an idea, they want something new for their shows?? Y don't they try giving female MMA a shot in tha spotlight... Put a few chicks on the undercard like in boxing, **** this celebrity BS, tell rogan if he wants to fight, ther's a professional bumb fighting league he can join.. RobbieD 12-12-2005, 02:40 PM I seriously don't think Snipes knows what he is getting into regardless of his experience. I'd expect Rogan to murder him. momita 12-12-2005, 08:02 PM Here's an idea, they want something new for their shows?? Y don't they try giving female MMA a shot in tha spotlight... Put a few chicks on the undercard like in boxing, **** this celebrity BS, tell rogan if he wants to fight, ther's a professional bumb fighting league he can join.. Took many years for boxing people to take a serious look at females in the ring..... with MMA being new to regular tv, getting MMA finally accepted as an arena of "real" talent, I think we can expect to wait a few years for women to be showcased, except on smaller venues. boxing912 12-12-2005, 08:14 PM is this fight really happening and when is it Smack 12-12-2005, 08:15 PM is this fight really happening and when is it It's all talk as of right now, nothing in writing yet. RastaSmoker 12-12-2005, 08:22 PM i dont feel many people would want to watch a woman get hurt. Its the same reason why they dont allow women on the combat front lines. Male's are genetically programed to be over protestive of females. It hard enough to watch a woman take a beating in the boxing ring, let alone catch knees to the face. LHWchamp5 12-13-2005, 10:26 AM FYI there is womens MMA they're already doing so why not HL it on a PPV Instead of having this celeb BS, next thing you know the UFC is gonna hire clowns and an elephant then it will be undeniable to all that the UFC is a circus.. simeraksou 12-20-2005, 08:32 PM i dont feel many people would want to watch a woman get hurt. Its the same reason why they dont allow women on the combat front lines. Male's are genetically programed to be over protestive of females. It hard enough to watch a woman take a beating in the boxing ring, let alone catch knees to the face. If men are genetically programmed to be overprotective of women, how come so many women get beats/murdered from their husband/boyfriend? Personally, I don't like women's MMA because they're not as skilled or powerful as men. MetalVomit 12-20-2005, 10:15 PM Snipes actually called the UFC and asked them for a fight, Joe said he'd fight him. Nothing is signed yet, I guess they are waiting on Snipes... Sorry if I'm late guys, but how old is this news? I'd LOVE to see these two guys fight. Hopefully Snipes doesnt get carried away and ****e Rogan through the heart  opethdrums 12-28-2005, 04:34 PM i'd love to see this fight. i just hope i get to see something i haven't seen before. kaps 12-28-2005, 05:40 PM You'll see Snipes get choked out.
