even if he did all the tyson haters would of said is that he beat a guy that has takin alot of abuse already and is well passed his prime. i think to the tyson haters he will never get any credit for what he did cause there either going to say that there bums or that they were out of there prime. soooooo what fight would have tyson got the credit he deserves??? cause every1 in the 90s was sorta ****ty as well.

Unfortunatley that fight happened too late. If it had taken place when it was supposed to I think it would have been a great fight, and Tyson would have won a decision or by late tko.

yeah unfortunately, even if Holyfield fought the SAME way he did that night, but Tyson fought even BETTER and won?...Tyson would not have gotten much credit as he was expected to win and the BIG time favorite to win...thing is that it was the fight that made Holyfield's career under the circumstances (health reports, past wars, 25-1 underdog)...it wouldn't have been THE fight to make Tyson's career had the tables been turned because of those same circumstances...I think THE fight that Tyson had in his career the would have made his career beyond the 80s was vs Lewis...

jesus was like 120lbs though. he liked to fish and make things out of wood, i doubt he would have been a good fighter.

mmmmmmmmm no it didnt happen cause tyson got his ass kicked while holyfield was waiting front row for the winner which every1 thought would be tyson. then that honor went to douglas and thats how holyfield became undisputed by beating douglas ass in 3.

Tyson fought Douglas in 1990.
Feb. 11 -- James Douglas, Tokyo, Japan, KO by 10. Dude was talking about 96. It was around 91 when they were supossed to fight, it was all set, then he went to prison.

Lucky for you he got his ass kicked and thats all you have to live with the rest of your 'Tyson Nuthugging' life. News flash; Tyson couldn't beat Holyfield today. (ouch) Credit? What does he deserve credit for?

Tyson fought a shot Evander in 1996. Everyone in the media was going on that Holyfield risks his life fighting Tyson and that Evander had lost ability. If Tyson couldn't beat a medically disadvataged Holyfield, i shudder to think what would have happend if Holyfield was in his prime!

He was talking about a fight that was actually signed between Holyfield & Tyson, and they were scheduled to meet each other in the late months of 1991. What happened was Tyson tore some cartilage in his left rib cage area while training for the fight, and the fight was cancelled for the time being...Bert Cooper was called in as a replacement for Tyson in that title fight against Holyfield.

Tyson then tried getting the rape trial postponed some, so he could reschedule the fight with Holyfield for early 1992, but the courts denied Mike's request and that was the end of that...at least until Holyfield & Tyson eventually did meet.

Whether Holyfield was or wasn't in the front row, it doesn't matter because he was signed/scheduled to face Tyson in late 1991. Look it up for yourself on the net, or here's a short quote from a Tyson bio;

"In October 1991, Tyson injures cartilage in left rib cage while training for fight with heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield. The fight is called off after Marion Superior Court Judge Patricia J. Gifford denies motion to postpone the rape trial."

i want to know, how come Tyson didn't get a rematch against Douglas for the belt?

Did he already go to prison or was he screwed over out of his rematch?

I agree. People just hate Mike for the most part. Thats why Tyson used to have a shirt that said "loved by few, hated by many, feared by all."

i jus saw it thats pretty tight. but me myself like to concentrate on tyson of the 80s cause the way he carried himself jus seemed invincible.i follow his style of the 80s to a tee. but i still really cant look at 90s and beyond fights cause it really makes me pissed to see what he threw away.i watch his fights in the 80s like everyday for at least 3 hours. so when ppl say tyson didnt do something in the 80s i start to laugh at there dumb ass cause i know i got the ****in fight collection and there probably noobies of tyson.

Yeah, I got Tyson's whole collection. The only fights I really like from the 90's was his fights with Botha and Bruno. Did you say Tyson is in Fight Night Round 3?

i am no means a "hater" But I think Iron Mike was overated.

A champion born of sly matchmaiking.

I personally don't think he's even Hall of Fame worthy really.

But with some of the bums they've let in already, they may as well let Mikey in too.
