Russ mentioned to keep an eye out for Bute, and I now have about 8 of his fights.

He's quick, and seems to have good pop. Sneaky being a southpaw too. 14 - 0 all by stoppage.

What have you heard?

Have you seen him in action in person?

Bute is already fighting pretty damn good fighters, and Allan Green looked VERY impressive in his dismantling of one half of the Chin Checkers. Those guys both look like beasts...I'm not totally sold on Litzau, however, knocked down by a journeyman at best and did FAR too much clowning that fight.

Russ tells me the guy is LEGIT, very much so. Says, more than anything, he is DANGEROUS. Very much so. He has crushed deent guys that have done more with bigger name...Wiggins just went 10 with Otis Grant and I think 8 with Lacy. Bute blew him out in 2 tonight and he beat some other guys in impressive fashion. In the future with him, Allan green and Curtis Stevens it could get very very interesting..... Jeff Lacy will have plenty of challenges.

Bu ton the flip side... getting dropped is one thing..coming back VERY STRONGLY from it is another and the guy that dropped him had been an olympian and obviously was a very tough guy with experience... trust me, Jason Litzau has ALL THE TOOLS... he is a kid still, wait until he gets settled as a pro with experience..... As for Bute they are telling me he is VERY REAL.

Bute TKOed Salem who knocked down Calzaghe. Looks like future problems for Lacy if he gets by Calzaghe.

I sparred with Jean Pascal... he is a fast handed but inexperinced kid.... I wouldnt dare put him at the level right now of Bute, Green, Dianconu or Stevens.

Saw Pascal's last fight...has that crowd pleasing style and very fast reflexes/hand speed. Looks to be a future star.

For a young up and comer Bute has been matched pretty tough. And he is crushing solid guys that give other more recognizable names a much tougher time

I don't see much potential in Litzau.

I think the biggest prospect is Vicente Escobedo, there are 2 amateurs I know also, Stan Martyniouk, who fought Escobedo as a amateur a few years ago, it was a controversial decision in favor of Vicente. Stan was nowhere near the fighter he is today back then.

On one episode of 'In This Corner' from quite a few months ago, Russ went out on a limb and said that Bute was the single best prospect he had seen in all of his years being involved in the sport. Not just the best Canadian prospect he's ever seen...but the best in all of boxing, period.

He obviously thinks the very highest of Lucian and when one checks out a few Bute fights (I've seen him vs. Cruz, Spearman, and Salem...plus a few hilites of other fights), you can see why Russ has so much praise for his future prospects in boxing.

This kid is for real!

I was watching some tape of Curtis Stevens recently, I believe this guy is the real deal. At 20, he is 9-0 (8 KOs), and hes been fighting bigger guys at light heavy. If he gets down in weight, he could be a real force.

Also, I heard an anouncer say he heald the 3rd place spot for most KOs in US amateur boxing history and that he lost to Andre Ward for the spot in the olympics last year.

Curtis was NOT #3 on the all time stoppage list in amateur history, no way. Whoever told you that i slost in termsof USA history and whilehe did lost to Ward (twice) as a amateur it was NOT in the US Olympic trials... Curtis did not make the Trials. In any event, I still think Curtis is a better pro propect than Ward

i saw him fight live November 4th in Oklahoma against Corey Budd and he looked pretty impressive to me. i guess he's fighting pretty soon again i think.
