McNabb chokes in the NFC championship game again.
He will one up Marino by never making it to the Superbowl.

Pats vs. Eagles

The Eagles are the ONLY NFC team that has a decent shot to beat the Pats...strictly basing it on talent alone. They put a lot of pressure on the QB and have the SECOND best D-Line in the league. Kearse/Walker/Simon/Douglas is just insane. Last year they didn't have Westbrook either and he's a big time player when healthy. He's quick and is may be the best receiver on that team now that Owens is out.

Roethlisbergr has no idea that the playoffs are a different animal than the reg season. If indeed the AFC championship is Pats/Steelers...Big Ben is going to feel the heat all day. Dillon is going to pound away at that great Steelers D and Brady will make the big throws when its necessary. Pats win 24-21.

I have even more faith in my boys (steelers) since out of all the "big, almost unbeaten teams" that played yesterday, they are the only team that didnt get beat cause their key players took the week off! Indy, Philly, etc...all got beat without their best on the line, while Pitts. still managed a win without Bettis, Roethlisberger, etc. I can see it being Pitts and New England at the super bowl, and of course Pitts. wins..they've beaten them once already! :D

Eagles are gonna have trouble without Owens. The difference Owens has made between this year and the last is very significant.

I am rooting for the Eagles all the way cuz of McNabb's ties to Syracuse.

He deserves the axe big time if they don't make it to the superbowl. Their D is just layered perfectly IMO. You have that great D line that takes a lot of pressure off of the above average secondary because of their pressure. You have a solid tackling linebacking core with the stellar Jeremiah Trotter stopping anything that goes from tackle to tackle. And then you have the overachieving corners (Brown/Sheppard) and stellar safeties (Dawkins/Lewis).

It'll certainly be a defensive struggle anyway you look at it...unless of course Indy somehow gets in.

I'm just PISSED because Denver made it in. I would have much rather seen my underachieving sleeper team(Buffalo) or Jacksonville make it. Look for my other underachieving sleeper (Seattle) to shake things up in the NFC baby.

It's true that TO makes a HUGE difference but they also didn't have a healthy Westbrook last year and he's a huge part of their success too. They couldn't get it done with Reno Mahe and ancient Dorsey Levens...

I remember when McNabb came to Michigan in 1998 I think. I had never seen a better running QB than him. He ran all over us. I thought he was the best damn quarterback I had ever seen outside of Montana.

For sure. Reuben "ex-fullback" Droughns and Jake Plummer can't get it done. Their offense is ****. The only players I like on that team anymore are Trevor Pryce and Al Wilson.

I'm so angry at Buffalo and Drew Bledsoe for sucking early in the season. They had, IMO, one of the 5 best teams on paper this year. Too bad they blew it. Denver will get knocked out immediately anyway.

I believe that Al Wilson use to be a U.T. Volunteer (if were talking about the same Wilson here  )...I agree with you about Buffalo; if they had played early on the way they have their last few games things would look different for them right now. Yep I'm talkin about Al Wilson. He's very good. SEE TRACY I LIKE SOME VOLUNTEERS DESPITE MY HATE FOR PEYTON AND THE COACH. :D I also like Big John Henderson for JAcksonville. He was insane at Tenn...he ate up the middle and terrorized QB's

Buffalo needs to draft another OL if they want to improve. The pocket collapsed one too many times on them early on in the year. They also need to bring Losman along quickly because Bledsoe no longer has the chops to be an elite QB in the NFL. Their defense is great and Takeo ****es is one of my favorite players in the NFL but they need to do something about their offense. Trading another one of my favorite Volunteers, Travis Henry, who they COMPLETELY DISSED this year, should bring them some good draft picks or another impact player on offense.

Yes Freeney is from Syracuse. Pasqualoni kept him from living up to his potential in the school.

It may not just be coach P. I mean part of it is his staff.

I was gonna mentiion Henry myself, who I think is with Denver?? He's a great running back, and I always like him alot more than Jamal Lewis (Ravens, now) and dont forget Jason Witten, who is with Dallas now, and the best thing that's happened to them in a while too ;) Love 'em or hate 'em, UT puts alot of fantastic players out into the pro ranks yearly...I think alot of people here dont know that the great, late Reggie White was also a Vol! My personal fav. was Peerless Price (WR) and the last I heard he was with Buffalo, but not anymore...I cant find him now and he is an awesome wide reciever!! Loved that man more than Payton and they won the '98 championship together

Henry had back to back 1300+ yard years for Buffalo and now he's playing second fiddle to Willis McGahee, who I must admit gave them a boost. Anyway, I hope he gets traded to someone like Oakland where he can be successful.

Witten had a breakout year...I wasn't even aware he was from Tenn. Peerless Price now plays for Atlanta, receiving those bullets from Mike Vick. He was very good at UT also...Peytons main target.

....I agree, and I don't see anyone stopping New England. Rothlisberger will have a much harder time in the playoffs if they meet. The only team I see beating the Pats in the playoffs is the Colts if Payton continues his mission. I think the Eagles will get knocked out in the NFC playoffs(even though the NFC sucks) and it might just happen in the first(post wild card)round.

Oh yeah, Witten's a Tenn. boy alright! He will do wonders for Dallas, and I think theyre starting to catch on to that fact judging by their last few games ;)
Travis Henry took a back seat to Jamal Lewis for a little while, and all the time he was the better player (which is why I despise Lewis so much!!) so he is use to having to do that; I dont know why I was convinced he was with Denver (now that makes me wonder who IS with Denver  ) .
Thanks for the 'heads up' on Peerless...thats my man there, and I love watching him play! He was such a trip while at Tenn. He was the type that he could and usually did catch the freakiest, most difficult, "no way in HELL can he catch that" passes, then he'd take 2 steps and drop it!! Man, I miss the hell out of him wearing orange...I'll definately pay attention to Atlanta now ..so THANK YOU for telling me that OG! :)

Just read through everyones predictions. One person picked Pittsburgh to beat New England in the Super Bowl. That's pretty funny.

I hate Manning but I would rather see Indy win than the pats. I'm also disappointed that the Broncos got in instead of Jax or Buffalo. I don't see Shanahan getting fired if they lose early though. 2 sb wins carries a lot of credibility.

It would be great to see Atlanta or Green Bay shock the iggles, but I just don't see it happening.

Andy Reid WILL NOT be fired, regardless of what happens from here in...

The ownership WORSHIPS him...& he just signed an extension that takes him to the year 2010.

The team would be dismantled before Reid would be let go.
This is common knowledge here in Philly.

With or without Owesn, the eagles are still head & shoulders above everyone in the NFC.
They'll make it to the bowl, but will get tounced by the AFC reperesentative.
I love Pittsburgh.....but my money would be on the Patriots.
Gotta go with the experienced team.

Well, like I posted earlier, Pittsburgh alredy beat them once..so, considering what would be on the line, I can see them doing it again. (and I dont know why its so hard for anyone to see it as a possibility either, everything considered)

I agree with you about the Eagles! I know that pittsburgh needs alot of work, and they performed rather ****ty their last few games..however, they did manage a win each time, so I gotta keep the faith! And I'd like to think that even with Roethlisberger and Bettis sitting on the sidelines like the did the last game...they still won, so that is only a good sign. I know they were just playing Buffalo, but Buffalo has played very well their last several games, and they are good for an upset!
So, taking everything into consideration, I can say without embarrassing myself that they may not only go to the super bowl, but may win it as well. And, once again, they did beat New England once already..something NOBODY has been able to do in a long time...and the Eagles! :D

I like the Packers, alot. But, I just dont see them making it this year; theyve had a rough time of it this season and failed too many times to get the job done

The Eagles have the talent to win the soup for the next few years to come. But New England is a proven winner and they are better this year than the last few. They are clearly the team to beat.

Patriots will be there again, I am hoping to see Manning and his Colts to win it all this year, but I wouldn't count out San Diego or Pittsburg just yet.

Philly will go down, so will Minn this week...

Just who is it you all think will beat Philadelphia ?

Patriots will beat them if they get to face each other.

Without T.O., McNabb will try to do it all himself, just like Culpepper tried to do with Minn. - McNabb won't be able to do it either.

I really think Indy is the front runner, even without that good of a defensive effort, they are hitting on all cylinders on the offensive side, and everyone is healthy - that is HUGE this time of year. Even the "D" has shown up in the last couple of games.

Broncos will fly in under the radar and win the superbowl! No seriously I think Pittsburg will win. Got to root for the AFC no matter who makes it.

San Diego CHARGERS

As a longtime Cincinnati Bengals fan I'm kind of rooting for the Chargers. It kind of makes me think if they can win it all after being so ****ty for so long we can as well.

I've gotta tell ya' Jabs, the Eagles are in trouble, it's not just that Owens was the best reciever they had and now he's done for the year - it's that now the other teams don't have to put double coverage on T.O. so they can focus more on McNabb. That is a problem for the Eagles, if the defense can contain him and keep him from running for those big first downs, it means he has to throw to the recievers who, have not shown much this year.

It's all about TO for the eagles. He was the only guy missing from their run last year. Steelers are gonna take it. Too hot, too much momentum, not too mention they beat the best teams out there.

If the Eagles had Westbrook in, & the same run defense they had this year....they'd have beaten the Panthers last year.

The Eagles are a better team this year, T.O. or no T.O, than they were last year...while the rest of the NFC is far worse than they were.

The Eagles will get beaten in the Super Bowl....but I just can't see them losing to this drivel in the NFC.

If I'm not mistaken...the Eagles are either at or near the top for the fewest points allowed in the entire NFL.

So....don't give me this "they're nothing without T.O."

I concur. Not without a healthy T.O.

Pittsburgh has no chance of winning the bowl with a rookie quarter back. And I'll make a personal bet with anyone who wants and I'll give them 2-1 odds. Any amount up to 50 million.

prolly performing better cuz TO is on the team. Confidence boost. Like having Achilles on your side. Maybe maybe not, we'll see.
