I think Stevie Johnston won both the fights against castillo i watched both of them yesterday..

First time judges scored a MD (Majority Decision) and the scores were 114 114 - 115-113 116-111 and i was shocked...because it was a close fight but castillo LOST it!!

The second fight was a draw...Johnston was originally declared the winner by Majority decision. Several minutes later it was discovered that Judge Ken Morita's scorecard (originally 115-114 Johnston) had been added incorrectly and should have read 114-114, thus allowing Castillo to retain his title.
Castillo was notified when Johnston showed up at his dressing room to give back the belt.

funny how johnston is underrated

It has been some time since I have actually watched those fights and I know they were razor thin and could have gone either way!

The importaqnt thing to understand here is that Stevie Johnston was 1) a helluva a fighter and 2) was in his prime vs. JL Castillo.

I think we have found out over the last 2 years and counting when JL was in his prime...it wasnt against Stevie Johnston.

I would have no problem as a JL diehard to listen to someone say Stevie should have been given the decisions, thats just the nature of a razor thin fights.

Was Stevie robbed? Absolutely not!

I thought Castillo won the first fight against Mayweather. Just by one round. Not what I'd call a robbery, however.

Casamayor outboxed the crap out of Castillo, and beat him by 7 to 9 rounds if I remenber well, not only that but I gave Castillo one of the last rounds out of PITTY, live on a round by round here in Boxingscene.

I've seen the second fight, and watched it again today. I think Castillo won the second fight. Gonna watch it one more time, when I'm a little more sober.
