Ok I'd put the Fix ahead of Reasonable doubt but thats it. The Infamous might be good but ahead of Ready to die? I dont think so.

Paid in full is a good choice. I feel instead of arguing over a top 5 we should create THE top 10 hip hop albums of all time. That would be far easier.

Just because it has a classic song in it doesn't make it a good album (although the Infamous is a great album). I jus dont rate it that high.

The way I see it is this...

Ready to Die dropped and I got that shit, I loved it to death and still will play it on a summer day. Its a great album but to me the ones I play the most are those 5 I named. Ready to Die would be in that top 10 of my list. Paid In Full is a classic no doubt, but I do not bump it. I respect it and still think Rakim could be the best MC ever, I respect their music but rarely play it these days. The last Eric B and Rakim album I played was Dont Sweat the Techinque, I still will play that every now and then. I respect the classics but the Top 5 are made up of the ones you consistantley love and play. Not just generic lists with the obvious choices to show "Hip Hop Knowledge" by saying 36 Chambers or Ready to Die.

Well I listed my top 5 favourite albums. Not the ones I play all the time as I haven't played my Enter the wu tang Cd for about 2 yrs. My Illmatic cd has been gathering dust too. If it was ones that I have been listening to a lot lately, my list would be:

Only built for cuban linx-Raekwon
The W- Wu tang Clan
Reasonable Doubt- Jay Z
Streets Disciple- Nas
All eyes on me- Tupac
Marshal Mather LP- Eminem

One moment Smokin'. Read the title of the thread. Does it say 'top 5 albums of all time'? I thought so. And I previously listed that. And now I have just listed my top 5 most played recently. I dont claim to know a lot about rap. And them 5 cds ARE my favourite.

"All Eyez On Me" I reckon is overated. Sure it's got a few of Pac's best songs on it but the rest is filler. Now if you want to hear a real Pac album then 'Me Against The World" is that album

Here are my favorite and all of them had a huge impact in the game in some way. These albums are all commmercially acclaimed and have the quality music to back it up. There are so many other great albums but this is how I see it.

Nas- Illmatic
2pac- All Eyez On Me
Dr. Dre- The Chronic
Snoop Dogg- Doggystyle
Notorious B.I.G.
