I hate most remixes. I don't think they ruin hip hop as a whole but it does tell you something about the artist's creativity.

I think you would make music/life in general easier on yourself, if you explain why you think this, rather than just blurting it out.

Modernly, somewhat, back in the day though, remixes were the ****. Black Moon's I got cha opin remix. OOOOOOOOOOOHH. I'm going to listen to that right now before i finish typing this. OK, now, remixes used to be the **** back in the day: Flava in ya ear remix, One more Chance remix,I shot ya remix. Although I assume you mean songs that change the beat? Remixes encourage the notion of BEING creative.

Listen to Biggie's original "One more chance"(which for those that are unfamiliar, is on the album Ready to Die"), then go listen to the remix, then try and tell me the original is better. No way you can even type that **** with a straight face. At the same time, some remixes do little more than "milk" a popular song unecessarily. Not all of them all.

Rap music evolved from a remix. People saying rhymes over long lyric breaks in disco songs...

The remix to "I Got 5 On It" was off the ****in hook... I dont like most remixes, but every now, and then there will be one better than the original song.

"These remixes celebrate the challenge of adding new sonic flavor to an already established concept, not the marketer's fantasy of slapping on five new MC's to the same beat. So while the "Flava In Ya Ear" remix is a classic song, for example, it doesn't qualify for this list. But don't fret, there's plenty to go around."

I like the Loungin' remix with LL Cool J and Jade, the SWV/Michael Jackson hybrid Right Here Human Nature Remix, the second I Need a Girl version.

I actually preferred the first One More Chance (had it memorized back in high school...lol) and the original California Love, too...

it depends. a lot of remixes bring new beats, new verses, new artist added on. so its all good. but i despise the ones where the original artist spits the same verse over the same beat.

I used to think remixes were garbage, but now its whatever. Their are some remixes that are just better than the original song. It gives us an opportunity to hear the same song with a different beats with different collaborations. Here are my fave remixes:

Flava in ya Ear- Craig Mack feat. Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, Rampage, and Busta Rhymes
Only You- 112 feat. Notorious B.I.G. and Ma$e
I Made Ya Look- Nas feat. Ludacris and Jadakiss
Ruff Ryders Anthem-DMX feat. Ruff Ryders
Neva Scared- Bonecrusher feat. Cam'Ron, Busta Rhymes and a bunch of people whos names I dont immediate recall.
Damn- Youngbloodz feat. Ludacris and Bonecrusher
Freakin'- Jodeci feat. Method Man and Raekwon

That was a great remix...

you got good taste.

Remixes are good only when done right (of coursE), but the south has spammed remixes with that crap "chopped and screwed."
