Sad to see the legend in such state. I wish he would be healthy and working as a commentator for HBO or SHO, that would be something :) Interesting to see if he will be in Berlin on Dec 17th to watch his daughter fight.

boxing 2005, don't know if you know this, but the latest rumor that ali's health was further deteriorting is bogus. not true! still battling parkinson's, but he didn't recently get get much worse. it was just a rumor!

Exactly,

the point of this thread was to show he looks relativly healthy and in good spirits.

That's in contrast to the reports he was on his death bed.

Spirit is all he has left unfortunately, I know about the rumors and such but even then it's upsetting to see the legend in a state like this.

The man is an absolute legend.

Long live Cassius Clay. Just wish him all the best, and hope he lasts for a good few years yet.

boxing2005, don't worry man. here's a couple of quotes from his latest book regarding his illness:

"i even went through a period where i wouldn't do television interviews, because i didn't want people feeling sorry for me"

"i am as much at peace as i have ever been, and i don't feel sorry for myself, so i don't want anyone else to feel sorry for me. what ever the future holds, i will come out on top."

Ali looks better in these posted pics, but I've also seen others where he looks pretty bad. Those rumors of his impending demise were false, but he is getting sicker and sicker and is not long for this world.

Right now he is carefully made up, groomed, and choreographed by his handlers for limited public appearances. That is not the real Ali you see but a shell. I would also add in he looked just pitiful in the 2003 MLB All star appearance. He has a lot of health issues and to deny them is ridiculous.

Who's denying it? What a lame comment.

Some of the reccent reports made it sound like he could be dead withing the next month. They were talking like he was bed ridden.

The guy is fighting a very telling disease at an old age, of course he's suffering,

but these photos and public appearences show one thing that's ever present with Ali: He's a fighter.
