Chups 12-30-2004, 09:13 PM Get the Sony DVD recorder...records on +R and -R format. Sir_Jose 12-30-2004, 09:14 PM Lite-On is a great brand for DVD Burners for a Computer im not sure about DVD Recorders though. My parents had bought a Magnavox one (also at circuit city) for like $179.99 and I have tested it out a bit, Im surprised it holds up very well and quality is great even at the 4 hour mark....To top it off the magnavox recorder has COMPONENT INPUTS! That is probably your best choice for a dvd recorder under 200, It is pretty good and should do you well. Word of advice get low speed discs when using your recorder it will give you a better burn, 4-8x looks like trash on the recorders I have tested but 2.4x holds up well... IwatchBoxing 12-30-2004, 11:49 PM magnavox recorder has COMPONENT INPUTS! What is COMPONENT INPUTS? Plus could you put the DVD in chapters so you can pick a round to watch out of all of them? Sir_Jose 12-31-2004, 12:47 AM ya my bro just bought a dvd burner for his comp and they work fine i recomend get that blockbuster thing pay like 20bucks for a month u make a list of as many movies as u want they send u dvds in groups of 3 once u watch the 3 dvds sendem back dey give ya 3more and so on and since ull have a dvd copier well i wont say more but use ur imagination I just got one. What program do you use? kepsy 12-31-2004, 12:54 AM Won't it be easier to just hook up your pc as a dv recorder? Haven't done it myself but a buddy from work has. IwatchBoxing 12-31-2004, 01:01 AM Won't it be easier to just hook up your pc as a dv recorder? Haven't done it myself but a buddy from work has.All that is too confuseing but I will buy a good color printer/scanner to make labels for my DVDs, I would much rather just connect the recorder to the TV and just press record than invole my computer thats already very complex. :D kepsy 12-31-2004, 01:05 AM All that is too confuseing but I will buy a good color printer/scanner to make labels for my DVDs, I would much rather just connect the recorder to the TV and just press record than invole my computer thats already very complex. :D i see... never really looked into a dvr yet. does it record directly on a dvd-r or it has a hard drive and you have an option to burn to dvd-r? spinksjinx 12-31-2004, 08:50 AM magnavox recorder has COMPONENT INPUTS! What is COMPONENT INPUTS? Plus could you put the DVD in chapters so you can pick a round to watch out of all of them? Component inputs support hdtv and progressive scan capabilities. The Magnavox recorder automatically puts the video into chapters with a menu. IwatchBoxing 01-04-2005, 09:48 PM For two days I've been at war with my new DVD recorder (installing it), I have won and by the looks of my early tests great picture qauilty, looks just like the oringal picture.
