Fight Night 2004 was a classic.
Fight Night Round 2 had great graphics...

Now they have Fight Night Round 3.. and im wondering what new fighters they will have in that game?

The game will be out in Mid 2006, should be a great game for boxing in my opinion.

To view the video preview of the game click on the link below

I want to clear this out to you, im NOT posting who I think will be in the fight..why the **** would i waste my time thinking of a long list?? I got this from IGN which has the Screenshots, Video previews, Picture previews, I dont know why delahoya and castillo are fighting in those weights either.

Maybe its because they have fought in that division before?

Castillo won the Mexican featherweight title &
IBA Super Featherweight Title

De la hoya was the undisputed light middleweight champion and wbo champion by beating sturm..

THE BRAIN SHAKE FACTOR

For as long as boxing videogames have been around the way that knockdowns and knockouts have been put into the game play of every boxing video game has been the same: There is a “knockdown bar” which goes down every time a fighter is punched (regardless of whether it is a head or body punch, jab or power punch) until the bar eventually completely empties. Once the bar is empty, then the fighter whose bar has been emptied can be knocked down and/or out. This unrealistic way of implementing knockdowns and knockouts into boxing video games has been in just about every one until now. This is an idea that I have thought long and hard to develop; and is one that if used will revolutionize the knockdowns and knockouts in boxing video games causing them to better represent the way that knockdowns and knockouts take place in the sport of boxing.

Anyone who has ever been hit in the head knows exactly how it feels. I’ve heard people who where new to boxing and hadn’t been hit by a punch to the head before explain the feeling by saying that it felt like the punch caused their brain to shake within their skull. This feeling is the result of the brain shifting around inside the skull when a blow to the head is landed. In some cases, when the blow is forceful enough, it can even cause the brain to collide against the skull throwing off the equilibrium, causing the fighter to lose their balance and, in many cases, causing them to hit the canvas. If the blow landed is an extremely hard one, and the force of the brain colliding against the skull is severe enough it can even knock the fighter who has been hit “out cold”. These occurrences to the brain when a blow to the head is landed and the way that it feels are something that for the purpose of this idea I have called “The Brain Shake Factor.”

The idea of how to implement this realistic style of determining knockdowns/ knockouts into a boxing game is an extremely simple one and is one that I am surprised has not been thought about and/or added to a boxing video game before now.

THE BRAIN SHAKE BAR(INTRODUCTION)
Simply put, the knockdown bar needs to be completely removed and replaced by “The Brain Shake Bar.”(BSB) The BSB would determine how much “brain shake” each punch landed to the head caused and therefore what effect the punch had on the fighter that it was landed on. It would also cause the video gamers controller to shake at various degrees (depending on how hard the punch was) to let them feel the power of each punch landed on their fighter and let them know the way their fighters head felt after being hit with the punch. (Let me pause right here to clarify that only head shots would effect the BSB not body shots, I will discuss body punches and their effects on fighters later, but for right now I want to clarify that I am only discussing punches to the head, because they are the only punches that would apply to “brain shake”). Now allow me to explain how the BSB would work. Each fighter’s BSB would vary depending on how good of a chin rating that particular fighter had. (This is true to boxing because fighters who have better chins in real boxing have them because there is less “brain shake” when they are hit with hard punches due to their thicker skulls(or whatever other genetic factors play into this.) So if a fighter had a chin with a rating of 70 that fighter’s BSB would be a bar that went up to 70, and that fighter would start the fight with his BSB at 70/70, a full bar. The BSB would work a lot like the current stamina bar used in boxing video games in that it would begin to REFILL itself IMMEDIATELY after a punch is landed. (This is true to boxing because a punch only has effect for that split second that it lands to the head and it either does enough damage to wobble, knock the fighter down or out or else the fighter shakes the effects of the punch off and keeps fighting. Each punch (even soft ones like jabs), do not somehow wear a fighter’s chin down throughout a fight and are then somehow able to be capitalized 6 rounds later (after a hundred more soft punches have been landed) and the chin has supposedly become so brittle that a soft punch like a jab can drop the fighter; But this is the way current boxing games represent punches effects and the way they knock down fighters with their knockdown bar.) As I was mentioning the BSB would quickly begin to refill itself the very moment after a punch to the head was landed until it was once again completely full.............

I am not trying to flame with you...sorry if it sounds like I am...

but all you are posting is speculation from your thoughts and the forums...what you see on the forums is not confirmed news...

example, just because Tyson and Codmasters may have split, that doesn't mean he is in Fight Night ROUND 3...Mayweather is an ideal candidate for the cover being widely considered P4P#1 like Jones and Hopkins at their respective times, but that is not confirmed news...just because this is the sequel to FNR2, that does not mean everyone that was in ROUND 2 will be in ROUND 3...

etc...

Whats this Brain Shake crap this fools talking about. Knockouts happen when you tag someone on the chin. The rattled chin causes the tip of the spine to rattle the brain causing a loss of control of the body parts (a knockdown/out). It's that simple. Brain shake..........Pinche Mr scientific.

What the **** are u on about?

I'm talking about the GAME Knockouts, not REAL LIFE knockouts, In real life someone can be knocked out in 1 punch in the fight, in the Game, if u have to keep punching, when the red bar goes empty then u get the knockout, or sometimes u duck and miss a big punch from another opponent and as soon as uve ducked u power punch the opponent, which knocks him out because all the stamina wasted in his power punch.

Those first two games were cool. I just wish that they had more real boxers in them. I dream of the day a boxing game would have the linear champions of at least the 8 major weight classes, along with many of the well known contenders over the various eras. Those EA games have had Duran, Leonard and Hagler ... how come they never had Hearns? For that matter, what about boxers like Foreman, Holmes, Jack Johnson, ... er Sanchez, Benitez, ... ack, what a dream game that would be. Hopefully they will have a better character creation thing so users can make whatever real life boxer they want with a better degree of accuracy. :)

that is the biggest problem with the realism of the game...it still takes that Street Fighter like approach where you knock your opponent down by getting his health bar down...

so you can put it on two players, but really no one is controlling player two...walk up to your opponent and just whale away with perfect, clean right hands until your opponent's health goes down...

when in actuality, if a boxer just stood there with his chin out and let another professional boxer hit him with his best shot cleanly, all it takes is 1-3 of those right hands to put the guy down...

that is exactly the point of RRSport's "Brain-shake Factor" idea...

Wake me up when another publisher is working on a boxing game. EA sucks for sports. There best sport was baseball and freaking Take Two bought the rights to MLB in responce to EA buying the right to the NFL. Thats weak son. Well there is Victorious Boxers. If they had a create a boxer half as good as Tiger Woods you could create pros that fight more like real pros in Victorious Boxers.

I had suspected that Floyd would be on the cover. I have some concerns with Fight Night:

The haymakers suck. They are too overpowered, and are just abused. There's hardly a reason a to throw normal hooks and uppercuts in FN Round 2.

Power bars ruin boxing games, and this brain shake thing I think will add problems. If it matters how hard you get hit, and not when you get or where you get hit, then say goodbye to jabs and crosses in Round 3. It's going to be a haymaker hook fest to deplete the brain bar, and that's not boxing. That's street fighting.

The total punch control really put boxing games in the right direction, but EA could really just screw everything up.

Oh my God. I have never bought a console after the PS1 because I never had time to play but having just seen the demo, I think it's time to change that. This game looks incredible. If the gameplay is highly rated as well as the graphics, I'm getting a PS3 and Fight Night Round 3.
