"The Best HeavyWeight in the World" AKA Toney fight Memorex 11-18-2005, 09:15 PM omg i cant believe john ruiz has 6% of the votes! Bozo_no no 11-18-2005, 09:37 PM This is a perfect example of the HBO hype LOL at Mrs Vitali talking about HBO hype. riz 11-18-2005, 09:45 PM they all suck, but if i had to pick one i would pick lamon brewster not many fighters would go into another country for a defense of his own title !! Mr. Soprano 11-18-2005, 10:47 PM LOL at Mrs Vitali talking about HBO hype. And I'm the one to follow you around? TuPrincipe 11-18-2005, 11:01 PM What exactly does this poll prove? ottoevans 11-18-2005, 11:08 PM they all suck i would have to pick Brewster because of his power. People still think its the same Toney that didnt have 100 rolls in his stomach AintGottaClue 11-19-2005, 02:52 AM funny how wlad isnt on that poll Bozo_no no 11-19-2005, 03:18 AM funny how wlad isnt on that poll Neither is anyone else that's been knocked down 9 times in their last 8 fights. riz 11-19-2005, 11:33 AM well wlads opposition is much better than toneys he fought sanders, n brewster, n now peter toneys biggest was against ruiz which he barely won, even though he used his steroids AintGottaClue 11-19-2005, 05:56 PM Neither is anyone else that's been knocked down 9 times in their last 8 fights. when does being knocked down alot mean anything? he's 6-2 in his last 8 fights DiegoFuego 11-21-2005, 05:11 PM funny how wlad isnt on that poll LMAO, you think he should be? HAHAHAHHA DiegoFuego 11-21-2005, 05:12 PM well wlads opposition is much better than toneys he fought sanders, n brewster, n now peter toneys biggest was against ruiz which he barely won, even though he used his steroids umm did you score more than 3 rounds for Ruiz? good thing you're not a judge! TuPrincipe 11-21-2005, 05:17 PM umm did you score more than 3 rounds for Ruiz? good thing you're not a judge! Ruiz gave a much better account for himself then most would admit. I gave Ruiz 4 rounds, but Toney was coming on down the stretch, so he ended up winning fairly lopsided. Super_Lightweight 11-21-2005, 05:19 PM yeah, there are a lot of Toney fanboys here. Toney is a great fighter, but he's getting older and isn't a natural heavyweight. He definitely lost his fair share of the early rounds vs Ruiz. Toney fought well during rounds 7-12 though and won most if not all of them with Ruiz a sitting duck. TuPrincipe 11-21-2005, 05:21 PM Ruiz was winning most of the early rounds, and I don't think it would be harsh if a judge gave him 5 rounds. Many of the rounds were very close. Ruiz gave a good account of himself. He demonstrated that He actually has some boxing ability. Truth 11-21-2005, 05:46 PM Check it out. Toney has nearly HALF the votes. Just as it should be. http://www.hboppv.com/ Toney is the best heavyweight out there, no doubt. TheManWhoCan 11-21-2005, 05:50 PM And I'm the one to follow you around? Cooler is that actually Manny_P in that link? j 11-21-2005, 05:56 PM it is a little odd that toney's on there and wladimir isn't. i mean, how many fights has toney had at heavyweight? 4? DiegoFuego 11-21-2005, 09:24 PM How many times has Wladimir lost at heavyweight? 3-4? How many times has Toney lost at heavyweight? 0? :D oldgringo 11-21-2005, 09:30 PM well wlads opposition is much better than toneys he fought sanders, n brewster, n now peter toneys biggest was against ruiz which he barely won, even though he used his steroids Barely won according to who? Super_Lightweight 11-21-2005, 09:32 PM Bottom line, Klitschko should be in that poll. He has question marks but so do the others and many feel he would whip James Toney. Toney's resume at heavyweight is poor but he is obviously the most skilled one. Will that skill make up for lack of size and strength vs guys like Klitschko and Brewster? Who knows... snap the jab 11-21-2005, 09:33 PM I voted for Lamon Brewster - James Toney is a vastly superior boxer but he's too old and small to dominate the heavies. If Wladimir had his brother's chin and heart, he'd easily dominate the heavyweight division. The way that that 6'7" guy moves is simply amazing. But you can't be the dominant heavyweight if you fall down every time someone hits you hard... Manny_P 11-21-2005, 09:59 PM This is a perfect example of the HBO hype to promote the Rahman Vs. "The Best HeavyWeight in the World" AKA Toney fight HBO hype is none otha than Vitali. blockhead 11-21-2005, 10:10 PM the results of the poll seem about right. toney is fun and that is why people like him. SugaShane 11-21-2005, 10:12 PM How many times has Wladimir lost at heavyweight? 3-4? How many times has Toney lost at heavyweight? 0? :D Who has Toney fought with a pulse? And No, not Evander... Derranged 11-21-2005, 10:42 PM Wlad isnt up there but he's still beter than Ruiz. But part of the reason i guess is he's lost a certain amount of respect some of which he can never gain back even if he beat Brewster Bozo_no no 11-22-2005, 12:11 AM yeah, there are a lot of Toney fanboys here. Toney fought well during rounds 7-12 though and won most if not all of them with Ruiz a sitting duck. Funny, if Roy Jones had stayed at Heavyweight and won the same fights, I have a feeling you'd be singing a very different tune. And you guys need to stop talking about that fight with Ruiz like it was competitive. The only time it was is when Toney was taking a round off. He was brutalized to the body, and counter punched apart. SugaShane 11-22-2005, 12:18 AM I wonder what the result would of been if Ruiz ACTUALLY stayed true to his style of clutch n grab. Then Toney woulda knocked him out. += El Jefe=+ 11-22-2005, 12:26 AM Check it out. Toney has nearly HALF the votes. Just as it should be. http://www.hboppv.com/ i agree with Toney being the best, but their polls i sont trust because during the mayweather Gatti fight, gatti had like 70% of the votes to be floyd |
