Its a tough one because neither guy is at their best. Right now I would say Mosley because he has looked better than Vargas latley.

DiegoFuego

why not pick Mosley because he IS better than Vargas? they're both a lot worse now, but Mosley was always better

This is really hard to judge IMO......Vargas has looked to passive and lame lately but Mosley has not looked great either....I have to say Mosley by UD given both fighters lack of performance as of Late.....WTF happened to Mosleys Power he has not even KD anyone in years????

Well this is the way I see it.

Oscar is a smart business man and the winner of these bouts will fight each other for BIG money at 154.

Looks like another Shane Mosley - Oscar Delahoya III which I would be looking forward to.

In 2002 this would have been a great fight.

Now, I don't care and if it is PPV, I will not watch it.

I would have given Vargas the edge back it the day, but I think that Mosely has enough in the tank to win just about every round.

Whoever wins, we lose

DiegoFuego

But then again, as long as one of them loses, we win!

If there is a draw, we all lose

Its a tough one because neither guy is at their best.

exactly, which also makes it a fight that no one really wants to talk about, maybe a week before it'll spark a little more interest but for now, there are other fights to talk about.

TuPrincipe

Mosley's 5'8'' almost 5'9''.

mosley is the same height as floyd mayweather..ive seen them stand side by side in person...the point im making is...mosley should be fighting at 140..not 154

TuPrincipe
11-17-2005, 05:06 PM
He should be fighting at 147 or 140. 154 is definetly much too big for him.

Vargas doesn't have an ant's chance in a bag of grits to KO Mosley.

Vargas is half-shot, but so is Mosley, and Mosley is smaller. Also, Mosley's speed and stamina are not what they used to be. This is a ****ty fight. Vargas UD. 116-112 116-112 115-113

I think Mosley may prove to be quite a step up from what Vargas has been fighting lately. Mosley should be able win by decision.

ya before that, he should have tooken his time getting to the top. He never got there and never will.Had he been managed correctly he would have had a better career and might have been the best 154 pounder ever.

You never know he could have had a better career than Terry Norris and Mike McCallum which to me are the top 154 pounders ever.

Just all the **** you said about Vargas being one of the best ever, he had boxing skills but not nearly enough, and it was his attitude of fighting the best that ruined his career.

Attitude of fighting? dont get it, I said his career was run to fast and that is why he never reached his full potential. Saying he COULD HAVE been the best 154 pounder ever is not far from the truth, there havent been that many greats at 154 and the ones I mentioned werent that much better than him if at all.
i just think you have a ****ing problem. Nothing I said has anything to with being Mexican. What the **** is the big deal Vargas is considered American by the way.You just opened your mouth cause you have me?or with any Mexican?

Common Terry had no chin but could have outboxed Tito like he Simon the second time.

Yes he COULD have outboxed him, but I doubt he could have stayed out of harms way for 12 rounds against Tito...Tito was a beast at 147-154.

Plus we all know that Terry didn't want to fight Tito...

I think mosley will knock Vargas in the 6 round. Vargas has talent, but was the kind of boxer that rushed his career to fast into big fights. He still is young and yet feels so old physically. I remember when de la hoya gave him a beating, and made him look like a nobody. Shane actually beat de la hoya, and fought another good fight with him.

Are you kidding me?

Shane hasn't scored a knockout in how long?!?!

Shane couldn't knock out David Estrada at Welterweight but he's going to knock out Vargas?

Have you ever watched either guy fight before?

thats a good point! shane hasnt had a k.o in a long ass time even dough everybodys putting down this fight i'm still going to watch it its better then watching a couple of nobodys, an ofcourse i'm going for vargas.

This is a tight match and anybody who says otherwise ain't got a quarter or a brain cell to work with. Vargas is naturally bigger and likely stronger, but a tad shaky in the chin. Shane is the better boxer with a compact style and solid in the chin. Vargas has KO power at 154, Shane don't.

Essentially this is the Post Steroid Poster Match for both fighters. They should match them without steroids and then with steroids for a clearer picture!

Vargas doesnt have a good chin like mosley does. If you REALLY see the fights between mosley vs de la hoya, and oscar vs vargas, you will see. Vargas almost got knocked out in the first round against hoya. Luckily he got him self back together or it would of been an early ko. Who knows I personally think hoya let him survive for political reasons. Or maybe thats just me. Mosley vs Oscar was a battle. Lots of combo and everything.

A match up of two washed up and shot fighters. Who is the more shot of the two? easily Vargas. Mosley will win this fight now and he would have won it even if they had fought in their respective primes/good era's.
