Mir was out. For sure he was out. That was crazy how his instincts ended up getting him that amazing sub.

I think Nog made it worse when he rolled. If he didn't roll it wouldn't have snapped. He should have just tapped once he got caught and survived to fight another day. Now his career is in danger.

I've never been taken so much by something happening in MMA. That was horrific. It looked like the shoulder popped and I hope it has, because if it's the arm, it's game over for Big Nog.

Nog should've just kept pounding him man, he let Mir back into that fight. On a side note, I hope Mir gets terminal cancer...

Damn Kaps why? If anything Nog should have tapped sooner. He kept fighting and his arm got broke because of pride. Mir fought a good fight and came back from practically being out cold. Nog really ought to blame himself for not being able to finish Mir when he dad a golden opportunity.

That's what I mean, he let Mir back into the fight when he could've just pounded him out right there. If anyone should retire from this fight I think it should be Mir, I don't see him being able to beat any of the top guys in the weight class and it would be nice to go out with a win....

I think the extra weight is not good for Mir to be honest. I think his stamina is garbage where he is at. His striking looked slow and stuck in the mud. Honestly I think if he goes back to his lighter body he can give JDS a decent fight. Whether he wins though is a different story his chin is like glass.

He's got nothing for JDS at any weight...

I knew it broke as soon as I saw Nog roll. Instead of getting free he just added more torque and pressure to the sub and got his arm practically ripped from the socket.

Mir shouldn't think this was "cool" to break a guy's freaking arm..............again. Now he has a reputation.

Mir is a tap or snap dude, can't blame him, GSP should've taken the route with Hardy....

I didn't see any of the interviews so I don't know what Mir said, but I don't have a problem with him breaking the arm.

I think Matt Hughes letting Royce go was the right thing to do because he was so dominant that it wasn't going to cost him the win. But Mir was very close to defeat and letting go could've meant risking losing.

I don't think Nog will have any problems with it either, as a top BJJ guy he knows how things are.

I think you will find its the shoulder broke and not the arm.
In catch wrestling its called a shoulder lock i believe :boxing:

In the heat of the moment it looked like the arm snapped. I started the thread before I even saw the replays. Shoulder separation or broken arm, point is permanent damage was done.

Oh yes most definitely damaged ,but permanent ? i dont know.
A guy at my BJJ/mma gym had his should popped the same 10 months ago and hes now rolling again..messed his rotator up bad tho.
If you've eva trained bjj and had even felt what this move feels like when its on you would know that its the shoulder that under tremendous strain, hence why in catch wrestling its call a "shoulder Lock " .

Actually breaking the long bone is better than tearing the elbow or shoulder ligaments. It will still be at least 4-6 months of rest but Nog may fight again. But at his age he might want to quit now before something worse happens.

That was one of the most intense moments in MMA history I think. This was really the last result I would have expected from this fight.
