View Full Version : Jermain Taylor vs Bernard Hopkins 2! Change of Mind.

I changed ma mind. I don't think Taylor can KO Hopkins becuz Hopkins is too tough and too hard to hit. 50-50 fight, but Hopkins ACTUALLY MIGHT WIN TIS ONE. But Ima go wit Tayler. Judging from that performance last July, I think he can improve it. f Bernard starts early like most suggests, then he wouldnt have ta stamina to do WHAT HE DID LAST JULY which was rally in ta late rounds. Tayler by decision.

Opinions?

Hopkins is pissed, I think he'll be a lot more prepared this time round, I reckon he'll win by a late round KO or on a decision.

well once again, my Hopkins radar has gone off....lol...I still feel he..well we all know..yes this time Taylor feels he has learned somethin from the last fight..well guess what..Hopkins has NEVER been defeated in a rematch..lol..but hey, the kid will once again learn a big lesson, he will learn how to lose..then he will b well on his way to bein one of the to 10 middleweights of all time...

Hopkins will win a UD. If he tries to KO Taylor he'll get tired and end up losing via a KO.

if Hopkins wanna win tis fight, HE BE ACTIVE. He can't jest counter Tayler. He should alos try to be ta aggressor from time to time. If he bully Tayler like he did Trinidad, Hopkins will definitely win. BUT, Tayler is definitely mo rounded than Trinidad and I think he'll make tis fight as close as possible if not win it.

BH will take no prisoners in this fight. He had JT hurt in those later rounds. I expect the old man to come in swinging and go out swinging. BH UD over JT.

who do you guys want to win though? I mean I know they yo boi n shyt, but WHAT'S BETTA IN TA FUTURE? Is it betta if Bernard wins or if Tayler wins? I mean if Tayler wins, a Winky match-up is a big possibilty.

I want Hopkins to win, so he won't go out on a loss. Is this his last fight?

That's a toss up. I want BH, but I think it is better if JT wins, only because I don't know what would happen if BH wins. Who would he fight next, or would he retire?

I think Hopkins will win by a close UD. i hope he fights winky next, i dont think he's gonna retire

Hopkins fought the best fight he could last time (slow early rounds, still landing but not much, rally in late rounds), the judges took it away from him, his only hope is counterpunching he's not going to be the agressor, doesn't work for his style and it def won't work on taylor becuz he is younger and fresher and will throw more punches.

I know he said he was going to retire after he hit 40 and he is almost 41.

yeah, he wanted 2 fights, the rematch, then another..who will it be, well if he wins, and he will, possibly Wright, but Wright will dodge him, guaranteed..mayb Lacy but doubt it...if he loses, him and RJJ should fight, and they should call it"Retirement of Legacies"

off subject but i would like to see jermain taylor fight lacy, taylor has to move up to super mid before long he is to big to fight at 160 for many more fights. they are both wild punchers with strenght behind them. i see them throwing themselves all over the ring until one of then lands one of those big wild rights. my guess would be lacy by a late inaccurate ko.

Hopkins can't fight the same fight again, slow start and lose rounds, then hope to KO Taylor. If he tries to use more energy in the early rounds, he will be gassed later and won't be able to win the majority of the later rounds. Not good for Hopkins.

I don't think it's in his game plan, but come out really fast and try to KO Taylor before round 6 seems to be his best chance. Give Taylor something he doesn't expect.

If the fight is near even and goes the distance, the judges will give it to the younger guy with a future ($$$). That's just the way this works, not just for Taylor-Hopkins but all the time.

Its a really close match up.

The last bout they had, a lot of people were saying that Hopkins won it. The fact Taylor won it goes to show the fine line between success and failure. I will predict a late TKO or UD for Taylor. It will go down to the wire i think, but psychologically, of course, Taylor has the advantage. He has won the last fight and i think this will deeply affect the game plan that Hopkins used last time. Hopkins obviously chose the most comfortable fight plan for him in the first bout. The fact that he is going to have to change it may also influence the outcome.

But basically, its a Taylor win for me.

Yeah exactly. If he can do it once he can definetly do it again. He has the edge, as i mentioned in my last post. But also Hopkins is not shot by any means. He can still win, and quite convincingly in my opinion.

Having said that, i just see it going the same way as Jones-Tarver. Tarver winning consecutively, and therefore Taylor winning consecutively.

fellow good athlete,
taylor only won the first couple rounds because the numbers were close in landed punches but he was way more active.

TuPrincipe

Hopkins can't start at a fast pace. His body is 40 years old, and he won't be able to have the stamina to do so. He is a well-conditioned athlete but a 40 year old body can't compete with a 26 or 27 year old body in Taylor.

Hopkins says he doesn't trust the judges so he will knock Taylor out, but Tarver said that also and did it happen? NO.

There's so many factors in this fight that make it a pick'em fight, so I haven't made my choice yet.

Taylor is more experienced, hungrier, and if he wins this bout he has bigger and better things in the middleweight, supermiddle, and possibly light heavyweight.

Fight will be close but I'm taking Bernard by MD.

Yes this is a pick'em fight. Too close to call. But I'm leaning on B-Hops to get a revenge on the younger Taylor.

The key here is for B-Hops to be more active early and win rounds convingcingly. He doesn't have to mixed it up with Taylor all 12 rounds, If he win early rounds the pressure will be on Taylor to push the fight to him. ;)

People keep saying if Nard starts fast that he will run out of gas, but I think if he starts fast he will KO Taylor...

This is boxing, knockouts happen and Taylor does not have a iron chin.

In other words: Hopkins by a vicious KO victory.

imo hopkins is going to fight the same gameplan he's fought time and again.

taylors has expierienced bhops dirty tactics and power.and has a hell of a lot more confidents.and has had mucho time to work on his mistakes.if this adds up to taylor connecting with more less anxious punches and returning dirty tactics in kind.this kids speed and power is going to make hopkins get old in the ring.

forget about this hoodoo crap like hopkins has never lost a rematch.

He thinks he won the first fight, but he didn't think he did a good job, he even admitted to that. He isn't ****y if it comes off that way its just to make people pay more attention, what he is is much more experienced than he was in thier first fight. Fighting Hopkins for him experience wise, was better than having 4 fights with some lesser 20-10 ranked fighters. I think Taylor won't be as excited and he won't jump all over Hopkins this time. Taylor by UD 9-3 on all three scorecards. You heard it here first....i think?

i will respect your thoughts..but it goes 2wayz..u cant tell me that Hopkins was a lil nervous for this fight..i mean its a fighter who really hasnt established himself yet..he had a lot of hype..like a lot..Hop i'm sure was nervous so he did what he does he learned his style in the ring..made his observations then attacked..yes it took a few rounds..but he now knows what Taylor has..u cant tell me he is soooo much more experienced now after one fight with Hop, cause Hop is great, he will fool him in the next..Taylor will b great, but it usually takes one loss to set a fighter on "true fire" his will come by one of the greatest middleweights to grace us with his presence

bhop doesnt have anything else to bring to the table.taylor went 12 rounds and handled all hopkins had.if it wasnt for that headbutt and mistakes taylor made, taylor would have won more dicisivly.

and if you're going to whine about idiot judge ford giving taylor the 12 then i'm going to whine about that other idiot judge giving hop all those early rounds.

taylors felt everything bhop has and will win this one more dicisivly.
