If Lacy moves to 175lbs without fighting Calzaghe, I'll be very dissapointed in him!!!

I love Joe as much as anyone but dont dare blame Jeff Lacy...if Joe wanted the damn fight it was last Saturday and it would have been in his own back yard to boot.

Martin cmnon man...you would be very disappointed in Lacy if he moved uip in weight and challenged the unified Lt HW champion?

I want big fights and so should you...waiting on Calzaghe (which we both have been doing) has not been paning out, if Lacy has multiple plans for super fights then Im with him...

Don't be dissappointed in Lacy be dissapointed in Calzaghe. He has had plenty of opportunities to fight Lacy but turned them all down. Lacy is even willing to fight in his hometown so he has no excuse.

Guys guys guys... I'm not blaming anyone if the fight doesn't happen, I'm just saying I'd be a little bit dissappointed in Lacy.

I hate all this "blame" that's floating around Calzaghe and Lacy at the moment as it is!... Neither of them are to blame at this stage. Calzaghe broke his hand... It's frustration not blame.

I'd only be a little dissappointed in Lacy, because after getting us all excited about the possible match up, he's not willing to wait several months for Calzaghe's hand to heal.

I would be disappointed because I really want to see lacy beat him down......but I will not be disappointed in Lacy he is and was willing he did his part nobody to blame but Joe if it never happens...I would like to see lacy/Kessler also before he moves up but we will see how the politics of the game play out.

I dunno why you lot are so critical towards Calzaghe... All Lacy has to do is fight Calzaghe in February/March 06'. It's as simple as that!

There's been one little hicup, (a broken hand) and Lacy will be coming into the fight slightly fresher because he's just had another fight. And it's not as if Jeff Lacy has been fighting "World Beaters" in the meantime.

All Lacy has to do is sign the contract... But I'm getting worried that he's gonna use the "Calzaghe broken hand" as an excuse not to take the fight, claiming that Calzaghe has had his chance, Well that's bull**** if you ask me.

Some fights take years to make, and timing on both fighters part is important... This fight is simple to make, all Lacy has to do is sign the contract for Calzaghe to be his next fight in Feb/Mar - Lacy will be fighting someone then anyway, so it might aswell be Calzaghe rather than another "past it".

Lacy is a throwback fighter he wears little or no midsection guard and wants to fight frequently if calzaghe can't get his ass in gear and be ready why should lacy keep his career on hold for him.

Calzaghe and Warren needed a little delay because of the broken hand... They now want Lacy to sign the contract for a Feb fight, but Gary Shaw is throwing up all sorts of excuses as to why the fight won't happen now.

All they've got to do is sign the contract.

And all this "Lacy's career on hold" talk is confusing to me... Lacy's last load of fights have been against men Calzaghe beat 4, 5, 6yrs ago. Lacy isn't exactly fighting top teir opponents at the moment.

I just get tired of all the (I think unfair) critisism Joe Calzaghe receives on this website... (And other boxing websites).

dont worry about lacy not fighting cal***gy. what you should be worried about is cal***gy not fighting ANYONE.

really, why would anyone want to fight this fight dodging, injury faking, skilless, creditless, ****** of cal***gy?

He can move up fight Lacy then fight Calzaghe at 175 or 168 later. What's the problem? So he should just fight nobodies while waiting on Joe?

That's the thing though... He doesn't have to wait for Calzaghe... Calzaghe will be ready to fight in Feb/Mar Which is about the time Lacy's next fight fill be anyway.

To be honest... I also think Calzaghe would prefer the fight at 175lbs (Weight making issues) - but not if the belts aren't up for grabs.

Right after the Pemberton fight Lacy said he would try to get Calzaghe, if not he would go after Tarver. Where did you hear he didn't want to sign to fight Calzaghe?

maybe tarver should stop making an ass of himself by calling out vitali and tyson and start calling out logical fights like with cal***gy, lacy, woods, adamek, or erdei.

I think Tarver would avoid lacy, that may be why he's calling out heavyweights but then again they can inflict even more damage so Im not so sure.

Lacy knows that Tarver hasn't looked to great in his last couple of fights. He won his last few fights but didn't look spectacular. If Lacy applies the pressure he KOs Tarver. Tarver doesn't do well when backing up like Lacy said.

none of this would be discuss if joe had taken a fight that everybody said was point less he beat the guy with one hand easily why take a fight you do have too. this not the first time he has pulled out of fights and who to say he wont do it again

I heard that if taylor beats Hopkins hell make one defence at 160 and move up to 168.

Plus Tarver said he wont fight lacy, so i doubt that fight will happen.

I just read it on the internet, quotes from Gary Shaw saying that Lacy never signed the contract so they don't HAVE to fight Calzaghe if they don't want to. And they not looking into the Calzaghe fight anymore...
