View Full Version : Trouble posting on threads
tracylee 12-28-2004, 12:56 PM For some reason, I cant post!? I wanted to post on the thread about the fight between Jesse James Leija and Auturo Gatti, but the option isnt even available. I've not been banned cause I'm logged in, answering private mess's and sending karma, etc.
So, whats the deal? Is anybody else having this problem. If anybody has any idea what the problem is please fill me in, cause the main reason I come to the site is to post on boxing, and now I cant seem to do that
LuKahnLi 12-28-2004, 12:58 PM Well ya posted now....aren't they doing updates or something?

I dont know...thats the thing, I can do pretty much ANYTHING except post on boxing threads! On these threads, theres no "reply" option even available, and when I click on 'quick reply' it throws me back to the index. And, at the very bottom of each page, it says that I MAY NOT post, etc..on the threads. I dont get it...the one thing I come here to do and I cant. Its weird; I really wanted to post my predicition on the Gatti fight, but cant??

The thread you wanted to post to is located in the NEW personal/member lounge section.
You have to sign up to one of those lounges, before you can post.
Strangely enough, any poster can sign up only for one lounge, but not multiple lounges.
slickhook 12-28-2004, 01:04 PM I have the same issue here! There were a couple I wanted to reply too, but couldn't. Glad you brought it up, I didn't want to look foolish. I have an image to uphold. LOL

To hell with image! I just wanna post. THe one's I've tried so far are in non-stop boxing...so I dont get that. Some of them were started by someone "dark destroyer" (whom I dont recognize or know) so I thought if it was in the index it was fair game?
Rick Reeno 12-28-2004, 01:10 PM The Dark Destroyer, maybe it has to do with the person being on your ignore list or vice versa. If the threads are in the Member Lounges, you cannot post in them unless you belong to that member lounge.
The1God 12-28-2004, 01:10 PM I thought Dark Destroyer was Wez. I maybe wrong.

Sonny is the only one still on my ignore...I dont know if I'm on anyone elses. I thought the threads were in the boxing lounge; so I dont know about this personal lounge, etc..
I dont know why I'd be on that Dark Destroyers ignore...I dont even know him?? :o

When going into the member lounges, you will see a list under each member lounge of members and members who are able to post there. If you name is not on the list, then you can only read but not post.

It is? Well see, I didnt know that. I didnt really care who's thread it was, I just wanted to post. So, do I have to start a "copy" thread just to discuss the Gatti fight, or what? I thought you were trying to cut down on repeat threads Rick? This seems to defeat that purpose entirely.
Dark Destroyer 12-28-2004, 01:18 PM Despite our past differences i'm not childish enough not to allow you to post on my threads. If you'd like to join my boxing talk group i have no problem with that as you are a boxing fan like the rest of us.

I see. Well, apparently my name isnt on there, so thats cool. So, I have to start my own thread, letting anybody post on it, which is the entire point of starting a thread, right? How stupid, but thats fine with me. Thanks for clearing it up, cause I had no idea.

Thank you Wez, I honestly didnt know it was you, or that only a select few could post on it. Gatti is my man, and of course I'd love to debate with the guys on the possible outcome of that fight!!!

No problem, you can join through the Personal Lounge selection.
tracylee 12-28-2004, 01:33 PM Rick, this idea needs a little work. Not trying to be a smartass (and no its not just coming naturally either :p ) but I've had 2 invites from different people, and I'd like to post on their threads too, but I want to post about Gatti too! I also have the worry of hurting the other 2 peoples feelings..this is too complicated, to limit everyone to only one group.
I may just stay out of them all, I really dont know.
The overall idea is cool, but the limit is alot of pressure, when you've got invites, and then there are thread that you werent immediately invited to but would like to post on specific threads!
Ranger2408 12-28-2004, 02:21 PM I dont get that, now my own lounge has noone in it and i may just dissolve it, people here have multiple interests why cant they be involved in as many as they like?

Exactly! So far I'm not joining any of them, once its done, its done ( I assume) so I dont want to get into one and then not be able to post in another. In other words, looks like I wont be posting nearly as much as I use to (unless I can find boxing topics that arent part of someones private whatever)
Syd Barrett 01-04-2005, 10:11 AM So If I'm reading you right Rick, you can switch from one personal lounge to another, but you can only be in one at a time. Is that correct? Or is it once you select a personal lounge that is where you stay.

You can drop or get dropped from one to join another. A person cannot be a member of more then one lounge at one time in order to avoid any cnflicts with the license agreement between BoxingScene and the company that owns the copyright on the forum script.

Understood. That's really no problem then.
