Funny thing, they're talking about power and it takes 90 seconds and five fights before someone hits the canvas :hahahaha9:

Have to say I did laugh at this myself!

To say that these dodgy stoppage victories have lead to him being overrated is totally unfair though, as in only 1 of these fights was there any chance of a Calzaghe loss (versus Byron Mitchell.) If Calzaghe has been overrated it is because of the 0 at the end of his name, and most of this footage had little baring on that.

I mean the Manfredo fight was in there, but what happened in that fight was that Fredo shat his pants during the National anthems and then offered no resistance has Joe slapped him about.

Calzaghe had teriffic power. Truly an underrated puncher who had terrifying consequences when he landed a shot. His hand speed was also the fastest in the history of the division. Pair that with his previously unseen in the division power and you had one deadly KO artist.

Joe Calzaghe is sorely missed.

Yeah Barn,... If we start sheep jokes, it'll be us Aussies ending up as the butt of the joke, after all we do have quite a few sheep....... and I think they outnumber us Aussie humans about 5 to 1,...... at least it was for a long time. My grandfather had three sheep stations, so I know a bit a woolly jokes, and we have the hide to call Kiwi's sheep boys lol. As for Wales vs Scotland, well history shows a few hints...... keep up the good work Barney.

To all you ignorant fans, Calzaghe did have a solid amount of power before he had hand problems.

He had Eubank down and early in his career he had some nice knockouts. As time went on he had problems with his hands and had to adapt.

Correction: He had a washed-up Eubank down. A prime Eubank merks Calslapghe.

One Name Jimmy Wilde........ Now Scotland's had some great fighters like Benny Lynch and Ken Buchanan, but seriously, Wilde was some kind of freak. I wasn't referring to Longshanks in regard to that contest, still not much humour there, even 7 centuries later. I have never been to either country, which do you recommend ??

Calslapsge ?????..... I hope you don't mean that great sledgehammer hitter demon from pugilism hell, Joe Calzaghe. Big Joe once put his fist through a watermelon, why he once threw a punch so hard that when he missed a left hook when his opponent swayed back, he not only knocked they guy out with air pressure alone....... but the force of the air pressure also knocked his both of his opponents seconds.

Wilde must be the greatest British fighter. In fact an all-time British boxers top 10 would have Wilde, Welsh and Driscoll on there for certain, and maybe even Calzaghe. Lynch and Buchanan would be dead certs for that list too.

As for which I'd recommend, as much as I love Wales Edinburgh is probably my favourite city in Britain. Fuking cold though!

I agree with you, Calzaghe was very good and I certainly don't hate him, I always wanted to see him button Mundine's lip. Calzaghe had one hell of a successful ring career, but he will never rank among ATG punchers or a great one, his strengths were all to do with his reach and height, he used these with maximum efficiency.

Joe Calzaghe won't rank among ATG's in general.

The referee was very slow to step in during a lot of those fights. It's a wonder nobody got killed, because as a puncher Calzaghe was second only to Earnie Shavers for pure power. You just have to look at Peter Manfredo, who was well on his way towards becoming an all-time great before he got touched by Joe's power.
