View Full Version : I HOPE TONEY OR RAHMAN GETs A Shot at VITALI THIS YEAR
Zab Super Judah 12-25-2004, 06:44 AM i know other guys deserve the fight more than those two.......but those 2 seem to be the only ones that could make a good fight.......maybe they could fight each other ........then winner gets vitali........but lets hope we see this fight happen.........just imagining toney and vitali at the weigh in makes me go crazy.........i can just imagine how much crap toney will say........and hopefully hell back it up
Yes, it will be good to see how Toney fights against these (in my opinion: poor times) top Heavyweights.
Can he take their punches?
If so he will be a force in the current Heavyweight division.
Lets hope on of these fights against Vitali can be made, and that we will see some good HW action in 2005 (and personally I hope at the end Toney will be the one with the belt(s)).
PS Zap who are you thinking of when you say other guys deserve the fight more than those two?
boxing fan 12-25-2004, 08:43 AM I think it would take them both to beat him. Vitali is so very good.

Neils, you are insincere and therefore pathetic.
Stop this bear business too.
You suck at it.
RobbieD 12-25-2004, 04:26 PM I'd give Rahman a chance if he was at his level when he beat Lewis but Vitali is clearly in a league of his own.

Rahman will fade within 5-6 rounds and get stopped and Toney will be overwhelmed by the size difference and Vitali will either win a lopsided decision or very, very late stoppage. I dont think he can stop Toney though.
abdiel2k3 12-25-2004, 06:02 PM lets not kid ourselves
toney will not be able to take Vits power
enither will rahman
the only channe anyone has with Vit
is make him miss
and make him pay
whihc toney has the best chance at
byrd can make him miss, a lil, but he cant make him pay
hopefully toney will carry some power
it would make for an interesten fight
1. Vit - Rahman
2. Vit - Toney
3. Vit - Byrd 2
that the HW fights i wanna see
in that order

Hurlex 12-25-2004, 07:07 PM vitali ko's them both..but the rahman fight would be good while it last
hollister 12-25-2004, 09:55 PM I'd like to see Rahman fight Toney, although he has never shown the ability to adjust midfight, and Toney would give him problems with all the rope a dope crap, I don't think Toney could stop Rahman, but I do think Rahman could stop Toney. As for VK, I would give Rahman the best shot by far, Toney is a very Talented fighter, and very skilled defensively, but it would probably be a more lopsided fight than the Williams fight.

....You know the old saying "be careful what you wish for". If both of those guys get their shot I predict two brutal knockouts of two over hyped and under prepared pretenders. The thing is, I believe that Rahman thinks he can beat Vit. I respect that, even though he has no clue until he gets in there with him. However, Toney's show is just that, all show. It's like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain. It's not real and he has no power amongst real heavies. Toney will absolutely not fight a real heavy. He is 100% full of ****. If he fights Vit it would only be for one last huge payday.

I agree with that completely, I have trouble thinking that even Toney himself believes he can beat VK, no matter how much paranoid schitzophrenic bull**** he spits out.

Toney never ducked anybody. He has been given "no chance" on many occasions.
Same was said about "blown up" cruiser Evander holyfield when he made the switch, the same Evander Holyfield, (unified) HW champ you are still naming under the label "no real heavy weight".
In my opinion 2005 will (have to) show the reality about Toney.
phallus 12-26-2004, 07:04 PM i hope these fights happen, i'd like to see V Klit in against both Toney and Rahman, especially Toney, for all the **** that would go down at the weight in, i just want to hear him call Big K frankenstein just once to his face, and then threaten to go to his car and get his gun. But mostly because people have written JT off for his entire career, first it was, " he's got no chance against undefeated Michael Nunn " , and then " he's got no chance against Iran Barkley ", then " his conditioning is suspect because he gets so fat in between fight " ( ok, this one's true ), " he's too small to be a cruiserweight ", " Jirov was shot when he beat him ", etc.,etc. James Toney is a THREE DIVISION IBF CHAMPION, mother****ers - middleweight, supermiddleweight, and cruiserweight champion and second in natural talent only to Roy Jones jr. i don't know if JT will beat V Klit, or even if they will fight, but he has the tools to get it done. oh yeah, and **** all u haters!

umm... Toney is very good... but he is not a superman
he will ge his ass kicked, but at least he will get paid well for it
Nautilus 12-26-2004, 07:43 PM Toney never ducked anybody
Exactly, that's why he fought Booker, the best ever cruiser turned heavy, to prove this point.
Why did he pull out from the McCline fight?

if JT gets beat, V K better watch out, Toney will start waving a gun around :D

Why did he pull out from the McCline fight?
because he tore his achilles tendon while sparring, i think McCline would be a good tune up fight for Toney, they should try to set that fight up again. Toney fought Rydell " Cocaine" Booker because he'd already beat the best cruiser turned heavy Vasiliy Jirov
Nautilus 12-26-2004, 07:47 PM if JT gets beat, V K better watch out, Toney will start waving a gun around :D
well, that will be worth a PPV, definitely :D

That will be a good fight, I think JT might get a SD, if he does not get KOed.
(I was very optimistic about JT's and Jirov's perspectives in HW, but not any more.)

McCline is only dangerous early on in the fight, once starts getting schooled by Toney, and he will, he'll just cover up and basically become a punching bag. Toney's chin is better than Byrd's and McCline couldn't keep Byrd down. Also Toney throws more and harder punches than Byrd, he'll hurt McCline over a 10 round fight. The reason Jirov isn't doing well at heavy is because he has no D, he just takes the shots, you can't do that against big punchers, even a bum with power ( old Moorer ) can take u out. Toney slips and slides, punches don't land flush on him

This analysis is based on Toney's fights at lighter divisions...
JT is a top 10 HW but I am not sure he can defeat any of the belt-holders, except for Bruster

he beats Byrd ( feather fisted cutie ) and johnny manlover louise, too, if JT follows the RJJ blueprint ( use skillz and speed and big right uppercut when the hugster comes in for the hug, (or tell him if he wins the fight i'm gettin my gun)

Daddy Klit against Toney is a mismatch im sick of this Toney mania, He is not a heavy period , he will never be heavyweight champ when Klit is around. And i do not like daady Klit he is a robot. We have to look to new talent Peters, D.G and  who else.
paulmmv 12-26-2004, 09:00 PM boy i would love to see vitali fight toney after all the stuff toney said about vitali it could be nice to see toney on his back
Nautilus 12-26-2004, 09:27 PM We have to look to new talent Peters, D.G and  who else.
Peter, D.G., you are joking... right?
IwatchBoxing 12-26-2004, 10:14 PM I hope Toney becomes a heavyweight champon next year
Mr. Untouchable 12-26-2004, 10:33 PM The only reason why I want to see the toney and klitscho fight is because I want to see toney fight a top ranked heavyweight, and see if he can back up all the sh*t he be talking and I want to see Klitscho fight somebody that is willing to fight him back. It seems like a lot of fighters lose to Klitscho because they are scared of him...

No way! ;)

I would also like to see if Toney can hold his own against the current "top" heavy weights (at this moment I think he has the possibilities). I would love to see him and Vitali fight.
Pinoy_Texan 12-27-2004, 02:10 PM I haven't seen much Rahman fights to judge him. Toney on the other hand is one of the best counter-puncher in the HW division recently. I can see Toney giving Vitali problems. JT also has one of the best footwork in boxing, that's not saying much but it should count for something if they fight.
MlLkMan 12-27-2004, 02:13 PM I think it would take them both to beat him. Vitali is so very good.
Yea , Vitali is the king of the heavyweights right now.
markosg19 12-28-2004, 10:39 AM it boils my blood, the way that people are suddenl;y saying rahman is a contender. The man is a bum, just cause he has knocked out a few journeymen and kali meehan doesn't mean ****!
