View Full Version : In the year of the upset...
ChrististheAnswer 10-01-2004, 01:44 AM I'm going out on what you could call a foolish limb and say that Williamson will beat Wlad. Theres no logical reasoning behind it, its just that this year there has seen some incredible upsets.
If the great Roy Jones Jr. can lose twice, so can Wlad.
techn9ne 10-01-2004, 01:57 AM so can byrd can lose twice too then!
Golota and Mccline!
PEACE!

... here it goes again.

Here goes what...my opinion. Wlad losing to Brewster proves that he is capable of losing to a guy like TOS. Remember TOS has power, Brewster landed only a couple of shots and put Wlad down.
But like I said I'm predicting a TOS win because its been a year of upsets.

It's fine. I disagree with you.

Put Wlad down? I don't remember Wlad ever going down from any Brewster punches.

Then how did Wlad end up on the canvas?
Neuraxis 10-01-2004, 02:20 AM Then how did Wlad end up on the canvas?
For one he collapsed at the end of the 4th round from exhaustion. Then in the 5th round Brewster threw a rabbit punch that I'm not even sure if it landed after the round was over and Wlad fell over. Is it legal to throw punches after the round is over?

Man.. You are just reeking of idiocy.
Thanks for always making posts that I can laugh at.
I swear, if you weren't so stupidly funny, I'd actually feel sorry for you.

Roy was anything but great at light heavyweight.

Well I saw a left hook and a flurry from Brewster and then Wlad on the canvas. But I can't remember a rabbit punch.
The bottom line is whether or not what you thought of the Brewster fight, Wlad lost. It was a huge upset, and getting back to the point of the thread, if Brewster can beat Wlad, so can TOS.
This has been the year of the upset.

Why are you so hateful toward me?
Dr Cynical 10-01-2004, 02:30 AM Roy was anything but great at light heavyweight.
Damn right.
Then again, I didn't care much for him at middle or heavyweight either.
But at least he beat Toney, Hopkins, and Ruiz.
So I guess I can give him at least some credit for beating guys that I hate.
Dr Cynical 10-01-2004, 02:31 AM Why are you so hateful toward me?
I just do not like the ass-kissing and pro-christian posts you make.
That is all.
I don't harbor any real hatred towards you, just your posts.

I don't think anyone cared for him at heavyweight, but I will admit that he was a good middleweight and super middleweight fighter.

Apparently you need to rewatch the fight.

I just wish he would have shut his mouth, focused only on boxing, and improved his skills.
Then I would have no problem liking him.
ChrististheAnswer 10-01-2004, 02:36 AM Apparently you need to rewatch the fight.
Yes perhaps your right, but maybe you should go and see who has the WBO heavyweight championship belt.

No one is disputing that. We are talking about what happened during the fight. I am going to pm you the link for it. After you watch that Wlad v. Brewster, you can rewatch Wlad v. Byrd.

Could I get the link as well?
Neuraxis 10-01-2004, 02:46 AM Could I get the link as well?
I guess so.
Dr Cynical 10-01-2004, 02:47 AM I guess so.
Thanks.
I clicked the link you gave me and saw "double punch vi".
What is that?
Neuraxis 10-01-2004, 02:51 AM Thanks.

It looks some sort of Ukranian or Russian ad for them.

Oh ok, thanks.
Where are their fights?
Neuraxis 10-01-2004, 02:52 AM Oh ok, thanks.

Do you click on "in the ring"?
Dr Cynical 10-01-2004, 02:53 AM Do you click on "in the ring"?
It said I was already on that page.
Neuraxis 10-01-2004, 02:55 AM It said I was already on that page.
Well its not actually on "in the ring" there is a triangle off to the left. After you click that. Wladimir and Vitali should show up under in the ring with similar triangles. Click those and it lists all of their fights.
Neuraxis 10-01-2004, 02:59 AM It said I was already on that page.
Did you figure it out?
Dr Cynical 10-01-2004, 03:04 AM Did you figure it out?
Yep.
I couldn't see it due to my browser.
So I just went there using a different browser.
Thanks for the link.
Sir_Jose 10-01-2004, 03:38 AM I someone wanted to call Roy great at lightheavy I would not argue. Roy is probably all time top 10 at 175.
Wlad was dominating Brewster, but Brestwer DID win the fight and thats all that matters. Garcia was dominating Tackie when he got KO'ed, Nunn was dominating Toney when he got KO'ed. It happens all the time no big deal.
I dont think TOS will beat Wlad. Brewster had an iron chin TOS has the worst chin I have ever seen.
But I dont make Wlad a lock to beat anyone, Wlad has shown that he has serious flaws in him.
techn9ne 10-01-2004, 03:38 AM Wlad was poisoned by the bigots!
ChrististheAnswer 10-01-2004, 01:36 PM Wlad was poisoned by the bigots!

I agree with everyone except for Roy. Fighters are supposed to win their belts in the ring not in court, and they are supposed to beat the best in order to become the best. Roy certainly didn't beat the best at light heavyweight.

I agree with you; Brewster won the fight..period. And I too think Williamson has more than a "good" chance at beating Wlad too. :D

I see nothing wrong with this statement. I dont agree with it, but he does say he has no logical reasoning, thats its just a gut feeling. My gut tells me Wlad will come back from these last defeats and move closer to another championship.
