Whether or not you should go down to 140 depends on what your body fat % is right now at 156. It might not be a good idea. I was 156 with 13% body fat and now am 143 with about 6% body fat, so it was healthy.

One thing you need to change is running in the morning. Not a good idea. You need to be awake for a few hrs b4 u run and have eaten a few hrs b4 u do so. Also, spinal fluid builds up while you are sleeping and renders you more likely to injure if you run when you wake up.

Where did you hear this? I always run in the morning when I'm trying to lose weight. It burns 2-3x the calories, most trainers will recommend this.

Here's something I found surfing, says studies show it so:

Start Exercising first thing in the morning.
As soon as you wake up in the morning workout for at least 30min to an hour. Studies show that working out in the morning has been shown to burn up to 3x as more fat as opposed to working out at any other time during the day. Here’s Why:

During the day your body’s main source of energy is the carbohydrates that you get from eating your meals. As you sleep at night for 6+ hours your body uses up all those carbohydrates as energy for various bodily functions that go on even while you sleep. When you wake up in the morning your body doesn’t have any carbohydrates as energy to use and it will look to burn body fat instead for energy.

For you to take advantage of this morning fat burning opportunity you have to exercise first thing in the morning. Don’t eat breakfast because if you do you’ll just give your body some carbohydrates as a source of energy instead of the body fat that you want to burn for energy.

Another great thing about working out first thing in the morning is that your metabolism gets revved up after your morning workout. Morning workouts keep your metabolism elevated throughout the day. An elevated metabolism throughout the day only means that you’ll burn more calories and lose more weight. If you workout at night you may still burn fat while you workout but as soon as you go to sleep your metabolism will slow down and you’ll miss out on all the extra fat that you can burn during the day if you had exercised in the morning. When you sleep your metabolic rate is always at its slowest.

Other reasons why its good to exercise first thing in the morning is that you get the workout out of the way, and working out in the morning will also reduce your level of stress throughout the day.

No one agrees on all workout/diets alot of it becomes opinions really, kinda like with roids. Most peoples using roids will claim to be the more knowledgable abt roids over any school book educated expert and the experts never agrees on all points. Cept drugs are bad mkay....

K so for this there are ofcourse other opinions and considerations and Im gonna state them as fact as they ring true to me. Starting a workout without breakfast will prove alot less productive as you will have very little 'fuel' to burn, youre basic metabolism while sleeping will burn around 650+ calories and will leave you a couple hundred calories in glycogen debt.

It's also done some research showing that working out early in the morning does reduce youre immune system causing a considerable higher threat catching a virus/infections (so I've read).

The only advice I would would give abt the training schedule though is don't burn out. Im never able to keep up a 7 days a week workout schedule for longer then a couple of months, you can also start suffering from athlete depression after a while. From experience you eventually want to choose either boxing or soccer.

Run in the mornings. You aren't training hard enough in the gym if you can run 2 miles after practice. Run in the mornings, keeps your weight down better and you'll be surprised at how much more energy you will have the rest of the day.

sorry, didn't notice you run in the mornings. I should read closer before i open my mouth. Oh, and you have gone a year and a half before you even have fought. You are missing out son. My coach will have us fighting within 3-6 months of beginning. The best way to get better is to fight fight fight!!!! Sparring is great, sparring great partners is better. But fighting is the best expirience you'll get. Also, when you turn open class, take on fighters with 20+ fights then you. Only way to become the best is to fight the best. No one gets good fighting chumps. Your record will look good, but when it comes down to crunch time and you have to fight a real fighter, that record doesn't mean squat if all you've fought is duds. Look at Tyson, great record, but who did he really beat? And who did he lose too? But first and formost, do what your coach believes is right. i am not you coach just passing down what I have learned.

Do NOT run in the morning, period. It has proven to be bad for your bones. Spinal fluid builds up while you are sleeping and renders you more likely to injure if you run when you wake up. You also are supposed to eat a few hrs before strenuous excericse or long runs. Just waking up and running with all that spinal fluid built up and not being hydrated or fed is a STUPID idea. One of the stupidest things boxers do.

from what I have read, the best thing to do if you run in the mornings is to wake up and have a small snack or sports drink before you run... i will usually wake up around 5:30 and drink a bottle of gatorade and then about 10-15 minutes after waking i warm-up, stretch, and then run.... so really i am up about 25-30 minutes before my actual running workout starts.... RUN IN THE MORNINGS!
