i cut myself under the right eye all down to the bone, when i fell and landed on a rock on saturday.

it is about 1.5 inch wide, it needed 2 inner stices and 4 stiches on the outside, im taking the stiches out on friday and i wondered, does anyone know how long it needs to heal before i can spar and fight again?

it kinda sucks cause im scheduled to fight onsaturday.

i would say that since it is under the eye it wouldnt be as bad, but either way, saturday is to early. Wait at least a couple of weeks. Let the skin completely heal itself before you fight. If not, it can become a permanent problem.

I fought this guy at the palace that was like 6'3" tall. He was from Ghana and we just started throwin' hard from the get go. I was cut in 2 places in the fight and the doctor that sewed me up after the fight did not administer any kind of pain killer. One of the cuts was above the eye in the middle of a big swelling. That hurt abit when getting the stitches but it was very minimal.

try having 15 stitches removed from you throat after you get sliced jumping a chain link fence. but your not allowed to get antestetic cause you have to work later and you cant operate heavy equipment after you recieve it. So yeah i do know what its like. Thats why its funny, i feel your pain.

try sewing your own eyebrow shut with a regular needle and thread. That happened to me a few year back split it open rock climbing while on a 1000mile bicycle trip and I bashed my eye of the rocks split it open bad didnt want to go to the docs while on vacation so I did it myself just took some advil after I did it, that was my anesthetic. Hurt alittle bit but nothing real serious I would have to say getting hit in the head boxing hurts more than sewing up your wounds. Getting them out was the tricky part the thread stuck in my skin and kind of had to pull it out almost like when you put an earing in a half closed ear. That was the worst part.

I definately dont know what that person was talking about when they said give it a few weeks to heal it's more like a few months for a cut like that to heal fully, dont recommend getting in the ring and fighting or sparring with that for atleast a month and a half, otherwise the soft skin will tear really easy and cause you way more problems.
