Who do you think would win between the all time great, López and the slick Calderón. I think that López has the edge in power and experience, but Calderón is as technical as a boxer can be. IMO, Calderón is a P4P guy who just needs a chance to show who he is.

What do you say about this one?

Serious responses, okay? No biased, bull****, or racial flaming.

That's an honest reply. Off topic, why did you ask me what part of Puerto Rico I was from?

Alez Sanchez vs Calderon 2003
~ 118-110 | 117-111 | 116-112 ~

Sanchez vs Lopez 1997
34-40 LTKO5

Lopez is obvously stronger, but I have never seen him fight, if Calderon can pat him around and keep away from him, he can win.

Lopez fought for 17 years, defended his belts 23 times I think and moved up to light-Flyweight for three fights.

Calderon at 30 years, defended his belt 7 times, been boxing 5 years, so he'd have to fight another five years at 35, to get close to Lopezs defenses.

Lopez started boxing in his 20s I guess. Calderon has Mayweather type skills, so I'd say he would give him trouble.

Lopez by knockout.

Calderon had too much trouble against a young, inexperienced, not too quick, not too sharp, Nacho Beristain fighter not too long ago.

Lopez would have done more than just bust the iron boy's lip.

Calderón has no power, but his boxing skill is P4P like I said before. I thought of this fight the other day, and felt that it could have been a good one.

Thats the thing though bro, Lopez's boxing skills were top notch p4p themselves, but he carried some pretty explosive power even though he was so small.

They didnt call him Finito for nothing.

You must be referring to Mako Leyva. Yes, he got hit in that fight because he fought a different style. Everyone who has seen Calderón fight a few times, would know that he is a slick boxer who is almost untouchable. However, he chose to fight against a bigger guy and ended up winning a close, but clear decision.

Lopez does everything better than Calderon. Calderon has serious skills but Lopez is simply better than him in my opinion.

What type of fighter was Lopez, if you had to compare him with someone?

Lopez was one of the best and most technical boxers of all time.

I would say he is like a Juan Manuel Márquez but more aggressive and powerful for his weight.

I would even say that López kind of looks like JMM. It's just that they were 20 pounds apart.

Lopez runs though him. Thats not a knock on Calderon cause I am a Calderon fan, but this is just two different levels of talent here. Lopez would have to be a heavy favorite over pretty much any little guy of the last 25 years.

People are trying to bring up Calderon's boxing skills, but ignoring the fact that Ricardo Lopez is regarded as of of the greatest technical boxers of all time. Lopez was pretty much flawless.
