But anybody else, it is better to look good losing. trinidadpr87 12-23-2004, 10:06 PM lennox lewis/vitali klitschko Kimmy 12-23-2004, 10:13 PM There are allot of benefits to looking good losing if your the challenger, just ask Andrew Golota or Arturo Gatti, if the fans like you your popularity can earn you bigger matches and bigger pay days despite losing. The question is, is it fair? Should the ranking system be more straight forward where if you lose, regardless of how good you look, then you get ranked down. Some fighters are undefeated and beat decent fighters but wait yrs for title matches because their styles are not crowd pleasing, but they get the results. scramwarrior 12-23-2004, 10:15 PM There are allot of benefits to looking good losing if your the challenger, just ask Andrew Golota or Arturo Gatti, if the fans like you your popularity can earn you bigger matches and bigger pay days despite losing. Actually, I think that that a fighter makes his own career. If he looks boring in the ring, etc. and wins, that is his fault. We have to give credit to fighters that leave it all on the line regardless whether they win or lose. It's our respect that they are earning and it is well-deserved if they go to war like Gatti-Ward, Holyfield-Bowe........ JaNnO 12-24-2004, 12:15 AM Whats better in a title fight and why - Looking bad winning or looking good losing?? looking bad winning...the record counts better in the long run...people generally have a short memory. record sticks longer no matter what, unless someone has a magnifying glass. :) JOM'S 12-24-2004, 01:54 AM looking bad winning is better, you still have the W, and could try to look better next fight... looking good loosing only works when you are figthing a marquee fighter or you are in a FOY type of a fight... Saint3605 12-24-2004, 02:03 AM Looking bad winning, If you won then the opponent couldn't have looked to good himself. Dr.Depravity 12-24-2004, 02:08 AM I would say looking good losing. Its the best way to win over a fan base. And after you do that you will the re-match and other big money fights. Plus your not embarrassing your self. Plus your not embarrassing your self. This is the dumbest thread ever. Why would you ever want to lose? It's like Foreman always says.
