im 14 and i want to take up boxing is that too young to start? :boxing:

I was 14 when I started. The avatar that I use is a picture of me and my opponent in my pro debut. 14 is a good age to start.

Oscar De la Hoya started when he was 6. Roy jones started when he was 9

14 is a perfect age to start, by 18 when you're eligible to turn pro you already know all the basics and are better than average. Tyson started at 13 and look how devastating he was at 18. It all depends on your heart and how far you want to take it, those who put boxing first are the ones who succeed. If you just take it as a past time and don't think it's that important then chances are you won't be any good in the pros

I wouldn't recommend starting at 6 though....

Look what happened to 90% of the fighters that started at 6...about 90% of them lost their hunger half way through their careers..
