Badblood wanted me to let you all know that someone sent him a virus and hijacked controll of his computer.

He will be back from time to time on his work PC but even that wont be very often. He hopes he isnt missed too much. ;)

He is very upset because he was hoping to reach 10,000 posts by the end of 2005. :D

what the virus do (signs)? did he already format his pc?

He was locked out of a bunch of programs and sites.

He could also not touch anything and see someone else controlling his computer/programs.

His computer is in the shop right now. The service tech said it looked like a nasty virus and the chances of him getting it out of badbloods machine were 50/50.

He works this afternoon so he might be on then and will be able to say more about it himself.

I'm glad my firewall is up, although I woulnd't know how to disable it. The ex was good for something....he took care of the computer stuff...so I'm still learning.

I cant rember which ports I opened witout being on my pc, and i run microsoft's firewall.

**** Microsoft firewall, it's pants. Try ZoneAlarm free edition, it's free and there's a large user group for the fine tuning such as opening up ports for applications.

I'll look into for sure when I get my pc back, I will never ever run with it down again and that's for sure. I will sacrafice faster DL and UL times to avoid this from happening again.

Try MS own spyware , Beta version, it's a free download and does a better job I find than Spybot etc. It also runs real time so offer constant protection against diallers, trojans etc coming in.
