View Full Version : Excitement for the Heavyweight Division!
Parody 10-14-2005, 08:06 PM Often called the 'Most boring division' these days which many
people believe is in terrible state, The only Heavyweights that can
bring the excitement back in the heavyweight division are:
Vitali Klitschko 35-2 (34 KO's)
Samuel Peter - 24-1 (21 KO's)
Wladimir Klitschko - 45-3 (40 KO's)
James Toney - 69-4 (43 KO's)
Lamon Brewster - 33-2 (29 KO's)
Calvin Brock - 26-0 (21 KO's)
Matt Skelton - 17-0 (16 KO's)
David Tua - 43-3 (38 KO's)
Juan Carlos Gomez - 39-1 (33 KO's)
Audley Harrison - 19-0 (14 KO's)
Donnell Holmes - 23-0 (22 KO's)
Roman Greenberg - 20-0 (14 KO's)
Calabrese 10-14-2005, 08:07 PM That's like the WHOLE division but ok....
Kimmy 10-14-2005, 08:09 PM I think Audley Harrion`s record is a bluff. He shouldn't be on the list. The most exciting thing about Audley is when he leaves the ring!

ROFL I have to agree with you, I really don't like that guy. I like how the commintators on msg and stuff talk about him like he's going to be the next big star..doubt it.
....People can bash the heavies as much as they want. It has always been and always will be my favorite division.
Parodius 10-15-2005, 05:20 AM Heavyweight division is the best sleeping pill in the market today. If you can't sleep just watch one of the Heavyweights fight, it works better then any other sleeping pill I've tried. I highly recommend the Heavyweight division, if you have a sleep disorder. ;)

It certainly works for my girlfriend! It is and always will be my favorite division too. I do like the other divisions too but just not as much.

get greenberg, holmes, harrison, and skelton off the list and i can see ur point.
Kid Achilles 10-15-2005, 01:09 PM The heavyweight division sucks ass but I will always tune in when the big guys fight. The truth is I'd rather see Vitali-Rahman than Corrales-Castillo III, Hopkins-Taylor II, or any other matchup south of 200 for that matter.
JUYJUY 10-15-2005, 01:37 PM Roman Greenberg is awful.

!!Captain 10-15-2005, 03:08 PM Roman Greenberg is awful.
I heard about him but never saw him fight. Is he that bad?
number6 10-15-2005, 03:12 PM Roman Greenberg is awful.
I think that ive only seen him once, and it looked to me that
he was tryin to be a heavyweight Naz.

I'm Impressed with 'The touch of sleep' Donnell Holmes, the guy has an incredible record. 23 wins 22 by Knockouts and 0 loss.
Latest win: Vacant WBC Continental Americas Heavyweight Title
TKO 8 for Holmes against Frazier.
number6 10-15-2005, 07:10 PM I know he's not done himself any favours, but i dont thnk Harrison is anywhere near as bad as everyone is making out.He will still be a genuine contender one day.imo.

I agree. He just has to prove it so people know for sure!

If you look at some of the contenders, alot of them are well past their primes and wont be around for much longer,so he could end up getting there by default.

One day? How many days does he have left. I bet he ends up fighting a Kali Meehan or Kevin McBride. Names without pedegree. I 'd love him to step up but he has nothing to ofer a genuine contender. He will not generate the average punter's $$$. There's no reason he couldn't have fought that level of guy in any of his last few fights but he wants to fight for money in his own backyard. And I'm speaking as a Brit. He is all talk until he faces a genuine, quantifiable, talented (by today's standard) heavyweight. I'm not interested until this fight is signed and sealed. Scratch him from the list.

As it stands i cant disagree, but hes not been given a chance by a contender yet(they dont seem to want to know). But if/when he does i think he will step up his game.Time will tell.
jpboxer3 10-15-2005, 10:14 PM Out of all those names,I think Wlad has what it takes to top the heavyweight division only if he stays mentally sharp like he was against Peter.
Povetkin and Boitsov are two very exciting HWs that are coming up.

true true :D

you obviously are not a true boxing fan
Dirt E Gomez 10-16-2005, 01:28 AM Just one thing to say on this topic.
Exciting? Hahahahahahahahahaha. On paper by looking at records it's exciting. Too bad most of them are mediocre at best and aren't exciting in the ring at all (a few exceptions obviously). I'm just glad you didn't have Ruiz and Byrd on that list or I would've laughed my ass off... more than I all ready am.
