Everyone keeps telling me that i shouldn't workout everyday and instead workout only 3 or 4 times a week for 1-2 hours. But what i want to know is why should only workout 3 or 4 times? what are the effects on your body and muscle's if you workout for 2 hours everyday? Could working out everyday limit your muscle growth?

well, working out everyday will only tone your muscle but not fully develop it. you need to take a rest after you work out so your muscle will have time to recover and develop.

working out 5-6 days a week is fine as long as you don't work the same muscles day after day, especially when you mix intense days with recovery days
yes, it does help your muscles recover if you get good rest between workouts. stretching will help aid the recovery as well. my advice, don't do particularly vigorous workouts preceeding a sparring match or fight.

Basic idea is that youre muscles need restitution after a workout. Basicly you break down youre muscles so they heal and thus growing stronger then they were.
It becomes more of a issue for building muscles though rather then cardio.
If youre a profficient free weight trainer you can train for like 30 mins 3-4 days a week and get great results. However if youre training boxing the only real resistance workout I do is abs and abs you can train pretty much every 24 hours and if you do a well balanced cardio/sparring/pads/bags gym training training 5-7 days a week 2-4 is a none issue as youre not focusing on getting the biggest biceps etc.
