Sometimes in the evenings I play checkers on my computer. You know how it is, you have a beer, sit in your seat half-pissed and bash one out. Then you play chequers - everybody's happy.
Anyway, today I had a game with an Italian guy. (I use one on my computer from www.gamezone.com) So usually it's close, competitive, sometimes I get my ass handed to me... but today I was unloading a six pack of whup ass.
So I've got eight chequers left, four of them are a space away from being kings, and he's got four pieces, all of which are ready to be taken.
You know what the cheeky bastard did? Offered me a draw! Then when I clicked the decline button, he leaves the game.
This is why Italians are bad in wars.

Italy was a liability to Nazi Germany during WWII.

I don't know how long you've been playing, but if its obvious that your going to lose you offer a draw first hoping your opponent is braindead and then you just forfeit the match or part the table. This happened to me all the time on yahoo chess when I used to play years ago. Not a big whoop.

If you forfeit it counts as a loss.

If that's the way it is then so be it. I've not been playing long, I just have the odd game for fun.
But I can understand offering a draw when it's just a slight advantage. But I was caning this guy... I outnumbered him two to one for starters. Offering a draw in those circumstances just seemed like taking the piss.
I was only joking about Italians btw... no offence meant to any Italians on the site. :)
