Anorak was banned because he has been attacking members over and over. He takes thing to extremes like creating images with pictures of the people he bashes with profanity laced all over them. This is not the first time that he was banned. After the Santino thread was locked (created in the lounge I may add), he then went to create a thread attacking Rodgers (also in the lounge) and then he was banned. InThisCorner was banned for making a racist remark towards an asian forum user.

for the record, I'm not crying over anorak getting banned...I'm just aware that the banning seems mighty selective..what some can do any and all the time, others get canned for . :confused: I think we've got the right to ask questions about that. You know, so much of the flaming is 'missed' that when those that were flamed fight back, they appear to be starting trouble, which is not the case.

After the site was in a bidding war for a major newspaper writer who turned down the offer after "someone" who was biiding as well, pointing out the **** in the galleries and type of mess the forums had become, the writer turned the site down. Rick was so pissed off when that happened that he told me to ban everyone and anyone.

The writing staff will be run in full by Sammy Rozenberg, who just came on board full time after retiring from the Associated Press. Another writer is coming on board to manage the site. Rick is working on various projects with Fox Sports and will rarely be around.

This makes a lot of sense. The forums are public. You dont need to sign or open an account to view the threads posted. Therefore, it is natural you clamp down on the ****o stuff, which is getting way out of hand. This will also attract more women members, which can only be good.

Just dont change the site, because this board is near perfect. :cool: The only thing I would suggest is getting rid of some of the trolls in this place.

What on earth makes you think all of us want to see that hatred plastered all over the forum? Most of us that know were straight arent uncomfortable with gays to the point that bashing them and making their life at the site pure hell is what we do. Most of us simply dont care..why do you? That is something I also mentioned in a post previously. There should be a annoucement thread started by the Mods clearning stating the dos and donts. This thread should be put right on top of the lounge so everyone can read it.

Yeah, forum rules and guidelines need to be established and published. At the moment ignorance is a partial defence and that subjectiveness needs to be removed. It appears that BS is remarketing itself and we as forum members need to be made aware so that we can effectively support it's transition.

FTR I think Banning anorak was appropriate because 1. He made that thread about Schmellings courps. 2. All the flaming and name calling amied at Neils 3. Making 3 or 4 different threads about me and few others spewing pure hate, doctoring photos to make them say"I love sucking ****" etc.

Last person I ever flamed was Rodgers which was about a month ago which we've cleared up, you're just using my name because you want the people you hate banned. Would you really want me to complain about the unfair karma squad you have going on? No, so shut your mouth and stop complaining, if you're going to flame someone for no particular reason don't expect them to not say anything back about it.

theres plenty wrong with gay bashing...for one thing, this is not the place for it. For another, you hate gay people...thats your problem. What on earth makes you think all of us want to see that hatred plastered all over the forum? Most of us that know were straight arent uncomfortable with gays to the point that bashing them and making their life at the site pure hell is what we do. Most of us simply dont care..why do you? FTR I think Banning anorak was appropriate because 1. He made that thread about Schmellings courps. 2. All the flaming and name calling amied at Neils 3. Making 3 or 4 different threads about me and few others spewing pure hate, doctoring photos to make them say"I love sucking ****" etc.

That shouldn't be tolerated.

I have already gone on record as saying that this site might be better off going to a paid membership format, even though I prefer it being free of course.

Here is a recommendation regarding banning: Give people in danger of being banned a warning first. If they persist ban them for a minimum of 6 weeks. These 24 hour bans don't seem to be accomplishing much. Then if the person continues after coming back from the 6 week ban, make the ban permanent.

This place used to be so great and still is with the exception of people like Anorak, Tony Blitz and a few others who spend all day on this site trolling and flaming.

Yeah, forum rules and guidelines need to be established and published. At the moment ignorance is a partial defence and that subjectiveness needs to be removed. It appears that BS is remarketing itself and we as forum members need to be made aware so that we can effectively support it's transition.
