I do, explosive 10 reps of the dumbell lifts. And just pick them up randomly throughout the day, and do a quick 10. Then put them down and come back later....

Its really simple and it helps fast twitch muscle fibres... The ones that make your punch fast.

Not a bad article! Plyometrics are great for power/explosion. I've always liked doing the conventional power exercises like the power cleans, push press etc. for about 4 weeks in the off-season, then do more specific boxing plyometrics/power exercises 4 weeks out from a fight.

article is ok, abit overrated man. do sprinting in off-season, and ur speed and explisveness will improve out of sight. i knew a boxer who did sprinting and went to 2 olympics and was one of the biggest amatuer KO artists eva. When u do other sports seriously, u learn heaps. giving tips on website is good, but u really need someone who knows what they are on about to help u right there and then,

Is it true tht to get more power and speed when lifting weights, you should lift them with a snap and really quick, or is it better to gain speed by using speedbag skipping etc...

I have never been big on weights due to me always having to make weight BUT.. I would say if you are going to lift and want to still maintain speed I would suggest any workout but use Explosive movements while doing so..

Something else you might try as well is the Interval training video form Title they have a great workout for toning the Whole upperbody!!

But the Key to looking fit as well as being Fit is a good Diet
