No offense but theres really no comparison between a prime Tyson and John Ruiz. Your talking about a future hall of fame fighter and a guy who holds for 80% of his fights and doesn't even try to unify because he knows he will get beat. Klitschko would beat him, Byrd would beat him and the Tyson of today may even have a chance.

Prime Tyson wasn't the most skilled heavyweight champion, but he was several levels ahead of Ruiz. Though if you were to compare him to today's Tyson, John would be the better technical fighter by a significant margin.

Ruiz has nothing execpt a jab and right cross plus the hug. Not many weapons in his arsenal. Tyson in his prime has all the weapons, bob and weaved. He is light years ahead of Ruiz in terms of skills (tyson in his prime).

heres food for thought, imo mike tyson was a weak fighter in a clinch. he can be tied up easily and pushed off, not as physically strong as he looks. punching power is incredible but not actual physical strength. ali wouldve muscled up mike at will. ruiz is a master at that infighting, huggin boshyt. so in that instance, ruiz is better. tyson beats ruiz in every other category though :D
